With 13 league games left of a compelling Championship season, the ITFC Not606 Prediction League has the home straight in sight! Big Al and San Diego continue duking it out for the top spot. San Diego had a temporary lead a few weeks ago, but Big Al quickly came storming back for his traditional two-point lead.

My Mystic Meg week saw back-to-back exact scores, as part of an 18-point surge up the table to nip in at third. But with my percentage of correct guesses below the 50% mark, will I sustain the run and clinch bronze? I doubt it.

The top three should be looking nervously over our shoulders at the chasing pack. Spanish, spitting sangria, will want third place back at least! Hampy's just behind on 36 points and has the joint best predictor percentage (which sadly doesn't win you any prizes). Unfortunately, with double-figure score predictions, Hampy's elusive first exact score is nowhere in sight. Gaffer's also on 36 points in mid-table.

Can Redruth and Stretchy take inspiration from Ipswich and win from a losing position? There's a mountain to climb, but not an insurmountable one. Scowey's leading the part-time players. PTC demanded a percentage of correct guesses when he was 1 of 1, at 100%, but then dropped to 50% after an incorrect prediction. Mike H, despite getting two thirds of his predictions correct, is bottom of the table.

If we have to settle for the play offs - there will be a 47th, 48th, and hopefully a 49th game added to the games total.

I work from home. Should also add I update the spreadsheet usually the next working day after a match.

Fantastic work Nuggets (even if there are a few inconsistencies in your totals :emoticon-0138-think)

If i'd have known there would be a league table, i'd have been a tad more serious with my predictions (not that i'm competitive....much)

I am astonished that Hampy has 66% correct with his ludicrous predictions!
Fine work Nuggets, are you a bored home-based statician by any chance?!

We all know the fun of forecasting footie scores, it goes with the passion and unexpected in the game.
And I guess we all hope and will predict a bore score draw for Fridays Leics v Leeds game, if not a win for the Tigers.

Haha! Fortunately my job doesn’t involve numbers (but it does involve a lot of words!)

For anyone interested, and for full disclosure, the percentage has been worked out by combining both the number of correct results and exact scores (as I split those out) against the number of games you’ve predicted.

The total is reached by giving two points for each correct result and giving four points for each correct exact score.

If I’ve got the maths wrong for anyone, definitely let me know haha!

Wouldn't worry about your maths, Spanish has to take his shoes and socks off if he has to count above 10 <laugh><laugh>

Got too cocky, sometimes you need to know when to quit whilst you're ahead. Should've done it with my 100% record (after 1 game)

I ain't happy, one I don't like being behind Nuggets, somehow he has snuck in thru the back door, which may I add could upset Redruth immensely, normally he sneaks thru his back door!!
Two, how am I 4th when I have the same points as 3rd?

I mean.....my percentage of correct results is higher so, I should be above Nuggets, I always prefer to be on top!! This is really getting to me, I think I need to go lay down somewhere!!

More games played, lower points per game and fewer exact results. You’re getting penalised there for participating Spanish.

I don’t see how I’ve missed 6 games - and if I had predicted I would have predicted Town victories. So really I should have another few points at least and be third.

He probably gave your points to Redruth, Yorkie!! If you want more points, you have to take be willing to take one for the team, as they say!!

I mean, that is a fair point. Fine, tie breaker now decided on the highest percentage of correct results.

Redruth has not actually predicted an exact score all season ... :emoticon-0105-wink:

That's because in Redruths world....any hole's a goal, so the poor guy gets confused!!

On a serious note, next season we should all put a tenner in at the start and do it properly. Gonna be a bit rough on PTC and Yorkie but I guarantee if there's money on it....they will suddenly start getting closer and do it every week!!

When I’ve got a spare afternoon, I will go through every single match day thread again and re-check the predictions and tallies. I’m confident the stats above are accurate though haha!

Any predictions that have been edited will be disregarded though, before anyone gets any ideas <laugh>

Definitely up for this! It’ll be optional, so people who just want to play for fun or make the odd score predictions can do (and they’ll be counted). But if they win, they won’t get the money haha! It’ll be whoever pays and finish the highest.
