Or, he could just simply be not very good, I’ve already set my stall out in stating he’s not very good, and so I get quite excited when he drops his regular clangers because then I get to lord it saying I told you so. It’s as black and white as that, there doesn’t need to be a conspiracy behind everything.
Don’t tell ‘em but if I was the oppos I’d target our right back as Seri nearly always hooks the ball to his left - it doesn’t take an idiot to spot it , hence my observation !
Theres that much analysis of games these days there is about 0% chance any opposition team wouldn’t pick up on these sorts of things. See the Southampton managers comments about working on defending against a particular move we attempt regularly and scored our first goal from.
Think it was the old fashioned ankle tap , at one time tackles from behind weren’t ‘allowed’ . It was a foul for me but as refs have been told not to give fouls if players go down too easy then I see why he played it on.
Just listening to Blunderside and LR interview.,.. this is 3 occasions consecutively he has mentioned the pitch and last night 'suiting the way we play'...
Seri gives to the man that is unmarked. If there isn’t one, he gives it back to Allsop. Who is located in row G with the home fans.
I know that there is a severe lack of grass on our pitch, does it slow it down (the ball that is)? For the limited games I have seen, has not really hampered the opposition (e.g. southampton). It's a genuine question. It's a good excuse to have though as it won't be fixed any time soon.
Not sure if you hear things like this HT but has Pandur impressed early doors? Is it just a case of waiting for Allsop’s form to dip now? I know it’s a game but FM has Pandur to become one of the best in the world in the next 5/6 years based on their scouts watching him and I’m an FM nerd so am excited by his prospect
He's doing very well and is an extremely good player to have on the books, he's better then both the other options, but I'm not sure we'll see him just yet. Allsop is showing improvement and it would be a confidence killer imo to drop him now ....but it didn't stop LR dropping Ingram for Allsop so who knows
I just listened to the 1904 podcast special after the game last night, one of the things that was mentioned was that how things had changed since Sunderland away. I remember going in to work the day after that away win and talking to couple of my City supporting colleagues, who’d appreciated the 3 points but were saying it was a scruffy performance. I was exactly the opposite, I was chuffed to bits that I’d seen another side of the team, for me we did to Sunderland what Norwich had just done to us, we dug in, we committed the professional fouls that needed to be made to ensure the win, the only difference was that we suffered a few bookings whereas Norwich got away with murder. We’d found another side to our game, and I was over the moon to have witnessed it. Some will see the win and the performance last night as the 2024 version of our huge win at West Brom back in the day, and I totally get that, but for me everything changed in that Sunderland away game, that’s the marker for me, and my forty quid wager at 22/1 has never looked so promising as it does right now. Up the glorious Tigers!
Love the 1904 pod… very funny !!! Can’t wait to hear what pruts thinks of the Southampton sensation!!! See what I did there….I’m goood lol
I’m not sure we can ‘blame’ anyone. It is how Liam wants us to play, for reasons well documented. Very occasionally, it will go pear shaped and makes the goalie and others look stupid. It happens to far better goalies and teams than us.
I’ve said from the first game of this season that Southampton’s defence is very poor…. Nothing since has changed my opinion, it is what will eventually be their downfall this season…. Leicester, ****ing Leeds and the mighty tigers via another Wembley win to go up….
Baz mentioned new lights at the MKM to help repair the pitch. I recall being told they were already doing everything they could when I suggested similar a month back.
The grass in our garden has had a growth spurt recently, I expect the MKM pitch to be much improved for Saturday. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
