It has the potential to be a bigger nightmare if the warring factions on this forum have to board the same train
There's another thread where some are saying they would be very happy with 8 to 11 points from the next 6 games.
Post of the week, I know it's faint praise but ... The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
I think the dynamic and mentality has changed in the last 3 games... beaten Leicester away, beaten Southampton away, should have beaten Leeds at home Traaaaaaore!!!!!, its only Ipswich who have done one on us... every game surely now has to be a 3 point mentality.
I think the sacking of Edwards at Millwall is a good example of how much progress we’ve made. Similar examples of teams underperforming with previous managers playing more direct. Both LR and Edwards came in implementing a more modern style with possession one has worked and the other has just been sacked. Whilst also transitioning the style Rosenior picked up results in the first season and now it’s reaping the benefits. This team does know how to dig out a win when it really needs to.
Our prebooked rooms at £23 each have been cancelled by the hotel. I think the penny dropped with them the ****s.
Oh bugger I’ll check mine, which was using some loyalty points so I’m actual fact was £23 cheaper than yours! Cheers for the tip off EDIT - so far so good…
I'll just sit in a bar in new York and watch it!!!!....if we get there that is!....the final not new York i mean!
I booked the usa holiday before season started . didn't think we would be anywhere near top 6 at the time!!!
Should be an easy team talk and pre match for Rosenior. "Remember Southampton, yeah? Just do that, please. Right, out you go."
All joking aside, from what I've been hearing from people at the game ( non city fans ) if we play like we did in the first half then your team talk above is spot on. We've set a benchmark now, any performance below it should be now unacceptable within the came and behind closed doors.
Agreed, it's set a precedent. Had we played like that against the likes of Millwall and Rotherham, the results would have been far more convincing and our goal difference (which I'm growing ever more concerned about as we get to the business end of the season, looking at teams around us) would be better. So now our job is to maintain that level of performance. Be interesting to see what expectations are like coming up against West Brom. Hard to judge and I hate to be that guy, but I can see us losing because of how inconsistent we've been and usually after a great performance we get a big crowd and end up bumming out. Come on, Rosie, prove me wrong.
I think consistency or potentially lack of will be what decides our season, we have no question about it a promotion squad in regards to talent, that doesn't worry me....it's turning that talent into 3pts week in week out ( or almost week in week out ). We have almost all the ingredients, it's just one major one we seem to struggle with ( up to now )
Consistency is indeed the championship holy grail. But it's inherently difficult to achieve, as evidenced by the playoff race each season, not just this. But Southampton does set a benchmark. We probably won't play as well every week, but our new found ability to grind points out when we don't, and hitting those heights on a semi consistent basis, should see us in the playoffs. Then it's down to 3 good performances.
