Lovely mate, glad you and your family had that experience. Here's hoping there's a lot more special moments to come from the club for her.

Wow, what an emotional night it must have been for you all, certainly one to remember.
A lot of players get a lot of stick for being money grabbing dicks but they are some genuinely good ones out there, unfortunately they don't make the headlines, apparently good news don't sell. Big respect to your keeper on giving your daughter a night she'll cherish forever

It might just be that you inadvertently touched a raw nerve here in Hull. 50 years ago this month, the Trawler Gaul sank with the loss of all crew, about 38.
Also in the 60s 3 Hull trawlers sank with the loss of 58 men in the middle of January and February.
On a happier note it was a great result for us last night. If we remain in the playoffs at the end of this season we might just meet in the Premier League. We’ve done it that way twice before!

Cheers for sharing this Lincs. Absolutely lovely to read this and knowing we've got people behind the scenes getting these things right actually means more than results in many ways.

Ah I see I did not know this.

Yes you played well. I don’t see us making autos now so we’re more likely to meet in the playoffs. I wouldn’t fancy our chances after last night’s game.

That is a truly incredible and heart warming gesture by Baz and the club. A moment your daughter will remember and treasure for ever. I hope she (and I'm fairly sure she did!) have a great birthday.

That puts last night's result and the trials and tribulations of life in perspective. Great effort by Baz and the club. All the best for your daughter's continuing development.

I was going to have a bit of a go at Baz for parrying the ball out into a dangerous area for the first goal but I don't want to do that now!

My final few thoughts from the game. Unlike others I don’t think we were great second half either. Better than the awful first half sure, but hard to be worse and it was at least partly due to Hull not being quite as aggressive in the press and falling back to a defensive shape as the half went on, but still thought Hull were pretty comfortable second half. The likes or Aribo and Che made an impact in our ability to play out, hold up the ball, in aggression, strength and energy but we rarely moved the ball quickly enough to cause Hull any real issues. I'm still failing to see anything from Sulemana, he still gives me the impression he thinks he's too good, and just don't think he offers enough on or off the ball to be worth a sub appearance (maybe when we are 3-0 up and comfortable, but he doesn't show he's a player to bring on to change a game). I'd rather bring on Dibling or SAA. Not that Sulemana was anything to do with this loss.

If we started the same team as we did against West Brom I'm fairly confident we would have been at the very worst, far harder to beat. And even if it's quite a defensive line up for a home game, it would at least give us a solid platform to bring on some attacking changes second half rather than having to bring on those players second half anyway but with a mountain to climb and try to fill gaps at the back/in the middle of the pitch at the same time as needing to score goals. Hull had a day less rest than us between our last games too btw.

Millwall are in awful form, but if we go into that game the same as we have done recently and they follow the play book of how to cause us problems and are aggressive in the press following Huddersfield, Bristol City and Hulls example, then we will be in for a right battle. They don't have the attacking quality that Hull do, but let's not give the opposition a 0-2 lead this time please Saints.

Had a bit of time to think about last night. That first half was dire. The players were half paced at best, no running, no desire. Whilst I didn’t boo at half time I definitely vented frustration at such a pathetic effort in the first half. As Martin has expressed a few times, if they don’t run and work for each other this way of playing football will not work.
He picked the wrong team as we had no natural 6 against a team that pressed aggressively, and when players don’t work and move for each other the inevitable goals will be conceded.
Thought Rothwell was a major part of the problem as he just ambled around all last night. Apart from a screamer against Huddersfield l, I really don’t see what he contributes. At least Alcaraz bought energy and hard work to the team, and that decision is not working as he would have played loads with the schedule as it is.
Oh well, onto Saturday. Let’s hope for a positive reaction l, and please don’t play that midfield 3 again.

Puts everything in perspective. Football has its highs and lows. This is definitely a high.

That is such a lovely story Lincoln. What makes it even more touching is that Baz isn't and old withered head, but just a young man. Actually barely a man. I hope his parents are proud of him not only for his career, but for what a wonderful human being they have brought up. The football may have been crap last night, but I feel the evening was still a success now after hearing this. Thanks for sharing.

PS He could have palmed the ball out somewhere else though ;)

Rosenior "People might say it's a great performance tactically but it's not tactics, it's an appetite to run and fight, and a bravery to play."

Rothwell, Smallbone and Charles aren’t great runners and fighters. Downes is

We need more of it in the middle
