Exactly we created the tensions, and we egged them on, supplied them with the weapons to keep going. Yes it was reckless and people have been slaughtered as a result, because of the West as much as the Russians.

That's fine mate, you can agree with the war if you want, I don't want to and haven't from the start. I said we should have kept out of it and I still stand by that. What have Ukraine actually gained from it, other than lots of dead family members.

He doesn't interact with enough folk

He lives in a small village and only sees his family. Doesn't strike me as a fella with many mates

They’ve stopped them taking over the country tbf. The Russians were on the edge of Kiev at one point.

They've still gained land, and the land they haven't gained is still not safe. with the exception of winter grinding everything down for now. Although I think talks may start taking place soon.

I agree it’s come to a standstill now where both sides are suffering huge losses for no gains. Now is the time to talk.

I was listening to the Russian ambassador (or whoever he was) the other day and you could defo hear a tone of change, where normally he was quite stone faced. Also Zelenskyy has toned it down....so hopefully.

At some point Ukraine will have to accept bitter reality, that the eastern districts they have lost will not be regained.

They will lose currently, two oblasts and Crimea. Oblast is essentially a fancy name for county.

Russia have already accepted they won't gain as much as they expected.

I'd consider it a win for Ukraine in all honesty.

If you aren’t that way inclined about conspiracy theories, someone like him would just do your head in.

One real bonus is that a lot of very attractive Russian girls now appear to be without men and have nothing better to do than attempt to distract me from watching streamed footie by popping-up and offering all kinds of sexual adventures ... and apparently with no strings ...<whistle>

I make you about right but the problem with them surrendering that land is what's to stop this all happening again in 5 years and then Russia taking some more?

Don't think Russia have complete control of the whole of Luhansk or Donetsk currently either so would be a big thing to give up land they retain military control over. I'm also far from convinced that Putin will accept anything that doesn't give him a land bridge to Crimea either as I believe that was always their 'minimum' target.

There's only ever gonna be one winner in a war of attrition mind so Ukraine are pretty much ****ed regardless. However it plays out I see smaller scale conflicts lasting for a long long time in form of insurgencies etc
