Speaking of boatbuilding in Southampton, my father worked on this beauty before it's launch in 2000 working with wood for the first time since he left the fibre glass ships at Vosper Thornycroft...
Every day is a school day. Thought it was a bit odd. Why would anyone on the south coast ever feel cold enough for a scarf? Other knitwear is available.
Yes, hundreds and hundreds of them and if you are from a maritime city you should know the difference between a boat and a ship.
Had dock to admit I love winding people up..It's a trout I've got little codtrol over. Good luck for the rest of the season, after tonight, obviously.
I am quite worried about tonight. There's a lot to like about Hull, and I can see it being a really hard game. Any thought of improving our GD can wait until we play Millwall on Saturday. Tonight is just about getting three points, regardless of performance or scoreline.
Yeah like i mentioned before, play like the Dec/Jan saints and we'll be good. Play like the mid feb Saints and we may have a few issues.
I did, met with nothing but abuse, unfortunately the biggest culprit being one of your mods who has the habit of editing posts, to try and make you out to be a dick. I'll leave it thanks
I worked at VT many years ago. The fibre glass Minehunter was a relatively new design being harder for magnetic mines to detect. One thing I can remember about them was the fibre glass dust created by cutting or grinding the surface to make a fixing. It was everywhere and was like working in the loft for eight hours a day, I itch just thinking about it. God knows what it's done to people's lungs. The other thing about them was they bobbed about like a cork every time a boat went by on the river. The steel hulled* frigates being much bigger were relatively stable. On a more sombre note, one of the ships I worked on at VT was HMS Antelope a Type 21 frigate. Sadly she is now at the bottom of San Carlos Water in the Falkland Islands after being hit by two Argentine bombs. Both bombs failed to explode on impact. The only saving grace of the whole affair was that loss of life was confined to just two personnel, one crewman and a bomb disposal technician. Bad enough but 177 were in the ship's company at the time she was hit. The details are below. Sorry to tell this sad story on a MDT but any mention of VT brings these memories back. https://royal-naval-association.co....bomb failed to,was subsequently buried at sea. * Just to keep this story on topic
Partly meshing the new incomings with what we have already got, partly Liam Rosenior being so cautious and lastly missing the players who are either at AFCON or out injured. We just do not have depth in our squad like you. For what it's worth I think we will remain inconsistent all the way to the end of the season and that will be our undoing. Personally I'm not too bothered as the premier league is crap, although our owner deserves promotion at some point for the support, energy and enthusiasm he has brought.
What , he moved to London because it's ****? I find people usually move to somewhere because it isn't ****. Nowt so queer as folk, as they say.
