So are we all over Dan Ashworth. Moving on. Personally I think it’s a blessing in disguise. He clearly wasn’t committed to the role. The club needed a shake up anyways.
It's a real disruption and I'd have much preferred he stayed for continuity (it is meant to be a long term strategic role after all). But he clearly didn't need much head turning from his old mate, so you wonder whether he was ever really into NUFC. If he had made an instant positive impact then I'd be really gutted. But reality is I'm just a bit disappointed, not upset. But hoping we can find someone good quickly to replace him.
I just think he’s in it for the money. Our project is far better than manu’s from a challenge perspective but of course u am being biased. Hard to not have your head turned from Manu mind. But apparently the guy doesn’t like attention and if he does go he will be under the microscope.
MUFC: We'll negotiate them down - won't be held to ransom. NUFC: As quoted in the i “They [Man United] will need very deep pockets or a lot of patience. This is a different Newcastle they are dealing with now.”
Seems we've got a new breed of fan ... the Ashworth sympathisers.... He's botted the entire club man.
As his wages don't impact FFP the Saudi's will just say, **** off let's let him rot unless Man Utd pay up. I'm not sure at all here where the room for negotiation is or exists. We'll just go get another DofF in whilst he prunes his roses.
Do you realise that it's not about the money?... more the principle to the Saudis. The Saudi's can afford to buy all of the PL clubs many times over. This is about the principle and they will be happy to let him sit at home and run down his contract. Don't forget we signed Wood from Burnley just to weaken a rival at the time.... so expect the Saudi's to apply the same logic in that they either stop a rival from taking the DofF for 2 years... or make a rival cough up way over the odds form someone who hasn't had time to prove himself here yet. Win/Win.
100% it's going to be Michael Edwards. Out of work, excellent tenure at Liverpool, close relationship with Howe. That'll leave Howe in place long term, I'd imagine, so pray to every God the bloke wakes the **** up from his slumber.
Nah, really won't be Edwards. He's not out of work he runs an analytical firm helping football clubs act smarter and has no interest in being a director of football again according to reports. Favourites are Paul Mitchell (Out of work) I'd say clear favourite Phil Giles (Brentford) would need gardening leave from there is my guess. Tiago Pinto (ex Benfica/ ex Roma) Out of work having left in Feb with his mate (the little Magpie ) If I was betting I'd go with Mitchell as a favourite and then Pinto and Jose as second favourites ( A duo a twosome with so many trophies they're frightened to loose em)
Phil Mitchell is far too busy running the Queen Vic to take over imo I think it'll be Giles, then that Portuguese fella. If it's the Portuguese fella, Howe will be sacked and Jose will come
I have no idea about DOFs tbph Its a part of the game that bores me to tears. Administration, office workers aren't really something I tune into a football match for. Just find a ****ing suit who knows something about the game.
