If Neil and Ballard go because we don't pay them enough, rather than because they'd rather warm the bench in the PL, this is a problem. How can we "use the money wisely"? when experienced players won't come because of the wage structure? Then our only hope is to buy lots more kids and hope that some of them turn out to be Kevin Phillips. I think that, when KLD thinks we are "ready", he'll allow wages to rise, but that might lead to keeping, say, Hume rather than Ballard and Neil
