Do people in the NE, and you, look at Birmingham City as a joke?

    I don't and I don't see Sunderland that way either ...

... I honestly believe this is all built up in people's minds.

The BCB was supposed to be reported on worldwide, so was the pig that ran away from the abattoir.

    Forgotten in ten minutes.

I'm in my mid 50s and it was the same for me. I think that there was always money knocking about in the game but it was not as obvious as it is now

Birmingham City have **** all to do with this <laugh>

As far as we’re concerned - both transfer windows this season have been poor and we’ve continued to bring in inexperienced youth. Nobody has came in and instantly improved our starting XI. Playing Jobe constantly whilst he’s struggled and the striker situation is laughable. Constantly chopping and changing without anyone getting a proper run up top. Don’t get me started on the Beale appointment <doh> You’ve mentioned the BCB incident as if it was nothing, so that’s not worth getting into. Thankfully a lot of supporters can see the shambles of that derby fixture from the minute the draw was made.

For me it’s been a poor season and a wasted opportunity after the positivity from last season. Never mind, I’m sure we’ll have another summer of kids signing later this year and an out of work cheap available coach appointed.

It would be much better if we were taken over by a Texan billionaire who doesn't understand football and appoints a series of different managers of different styles, who each blow millions on slightly past it mercenaries, in a series of lurches from crisis to crisis while we spend the entire time in a relegation battle.

Oh I'm so sorry, it was just an innocent question.

I should've realised you just wanted to repeat what you've already posted 100 times before ...

... I'll leave you there and look forward to 101.

I think it's been disappointing rather than poor and I wouldn't call it a wasted opportunity either. Progress is very often two steps forward....ie last season..and one back...ie this. Losing Amad was a factor in our generally less exciting, effective play so far this season....not covering Evans and signing an effective front man are also to blame....but if we can address these issues..and we haven't seen Styles yet...it needn't be a disaster.
If we assume we're going to finish more or less where we are now in the league, and we lose Clarke,Neil and Ballard,it'll be crucial we use the money wisely to ensure we take two steps forward again next season.
Long term stability worries me more than results this season. As fans we need to understand a permanent ownership structure.....rumours about people selling shares is always unsettling,in that it makes us feel as though there's no commitment,....and the appointment of the correct head coach is seriously vital. The scepticism around constant upheavel from the Boardroom down through the management structure,on and off the field, is ultimately eating away at us and leaving lots of us very low. We need the confidence that comes with the belief in our club and its' prospects, not this never-ending uncertainty, which has pervaded us for far too long.

Sunderland fan : “we are underperforming, should easily be in playoffs. We’re a joke”

same Sunderland fans “our recruitment is terrible. Our squad isn’t good enough. We’re a joke”.

    which is it like?

Satori selling his shares is just a big “so what, why should I care?” from me. Not exactly been hugely involved from what I can see.

He scored a decent penalty in the pre-match entertainment at Charlton to be fair.

Yeah but not in the same way I would if KLD sold his. KLD will still be the controlling director whatever happens and I think Sartori will not shaft KLD by selling to anyone KLD doesn’t want.

You're probably right. I was coming at it more from the long term point of view. If Sartori wants out, that's fine, but whoever he sells to has to be in for the long term, which is my hope for KLD. We've had too much chop and change in recent times to inspire any confidence amongst us. We don't know what the intentions are, what the plan is...we hear rumour and counter rumour all the time, from various sources, some believable, most not so. All it does is promote scepticism and doubt.

Surprised to see Sartori wants to sell his shares, swear i read recently that him and KLD announced a joint deal in some motorbike related sport not too long ago.

If Sartori really wanted to sell his shares he could do so pretty quickly. Businessmen, especially minority shareholders, will always sell if there's profit or another opportunity.

We have to remember those shares are virtually worthless while he has them. They don't even exist in physical form, they're not in a shoebox under his bed.

They may even oblige him to keep paying out pro rata with KLD.

It's being built up to be a massive conspiracy or something to be concerned about ...

... some people are always looking for one smoking gun or another tbh.

I remember when Man U spent 24 million on Rio Ferdinand and folk fainted. 46 million for Zidane to Madrid, unheard of. Thoes two fees added together now mite get a top team a bench warmer. You're right, money has always sloshed around.
