Sometimes it's like watching one of them whodunit shows on the telly but with the last couple episodes missing!

Yes. I worry that SAFC won’t be so attractive to players. They may be thinking they won’t know who their manager is from one minute to the next. Even if someone like Still is appointed early in the summer he won’t be a great factor in attracting players as they won’t know anything about him. Also, what about current players, will they now want to be off because of the instability? By the way, this is not an argument for keeping Beale, just a concern on our attractiveness to players in the summer.

I'm basically of the same opinion with Speakman. Yes he's done well since he's come in and we're a totally different club on the pitch than when he joined but the thing that keeps nagging at me is that he came from leading the youths at Birmingham which I would assume will be different than leading the club as a whole. As I've said in another thread, I think its time to step up to be a serious contender in the push for promotion whether that's this season or the next and we need Speakman to reflect that as Director of Football. We can all see gaps in the team and they need to be filled with the right personnel

Football these days is not the same as when most of us were watching it growing up. In those days, any team could win each division without spending a **** loads of money, the football wouldn't be as fluent as it is today but it was just as exciting. I tend not to watch any other games other than ours unless its peaked my interest as you say some clubs have got a cheat code before a ball has been kicked. If I may, all I can suggest is to watch our football club and enjoy what you see, be the fan that you want to be and then lets see where the club ends up. You never know we could be surprised and this time next year we can be Premier League champions! <cool>

Making claims that the owner hasn't a clue what's going on at the club is easy and ludicrous.

Saying things that the club won't even notice, let alone respond to, means absolutely anything can be trotted out as facts.

This crusade to discredit him, and the club in general, is bizarre imo.

So what if Sartori sells his shares or not ...

... this obsession, from WIseMenSay, etc, is ridiculous and being built up into something it isn't.

I never really watch anything other than our matches, if its on when I'm in someone's house I'll watch and I'll watch a bit of England when at a competition but rarely watch qualifiers.

Theres a huge doubt about Speakman now imo.

His role really should be under review if it was him who pushed for Beale to take the job - almost everyone thought it would fail from the minute his name was linked for a combination of reasons - poor and limited record, rangers 3rd in a 2 horse race when he was sacked this season, rangers improvement as soon as he was out the door, his reported poor man management, unpopularity with support of former clubs, never managing a full season anywhere, undermining of van bronkhurst before getting rangers job.

Basic due diligence would have revealed all that and more but no Speakman knew best apparently and we are back to Dodds and proctor but the owner has compensation package to pay. I really don't see how they can appoint a fully committed new head coach if within those parameters he has to work with Dodds and proctor - what if he has a different philosophy, what if he just doesn't get on with both of them?

The model needs changing and speakmans influence needs looking at I think if he himself is too stubborn to self reflect on where he has gone wrong as well similar outcome awaits.

He's like any other employee, at the club, he'll either get the job right or will leave.

Perhaps the model needs the right people or perhaps it needs changing ...

... only the club will decide and in their own time.

That may not suit people who think their ideas are better but that's just too bad tbh.

The cricket team needs a reboot while we watch an era of domination from the Indians.

I find it strange that people are opposed to the approach KLD is using. It's clear that what might be considered the traditional British approach hasn't got us anywhere in the last 90 years. It will take a different approach to change things.

The bit that got me in the post I responded to was the 'it won't work up here'. Maybe I'm overreacting but it seems to me that the implication is that KLDs approach isn't suited to Sunderland or the north-east. As if Sunderland is some special case or that people in the north-east are not capable of innovation or adopting new ideas. That's clearly not the case. Why do people persist in putting their own region down?

I don’t agree with playing Bazball 100% of the time. There’s still a place in the game for the need to dig in and preserve your wicket. The likes of Bairstow in the team cos he’s good pals with Stokes. Ridiculous. We’ve got talented youngsters like who aren’t even getting a look in because of it.

If we'd had great success, with previous regimes, I could understand.

Despite bringing in good players who develop into better ones, being trusted with loans by the top clubs and challenging for the play-offs in two seasons it's 'not going to work' apparently. We're now seeing people wanting to go back to a manager bringing his own entourage or suggesting Roy Keane, Allardyce or whoever come back.

It didn't work and left us with players who only came for that manager and lose interest when they walk out.

I find it interesting that out of our proper batsmen its the captain, that sometimes doesnt do the bazball thing and tries to build his innings, Root needs to sort himself out also, if they all clicked together it would be something to behold

This is the way I would take it.

But let's be real about this how many in the top jobs, coaching staff, players etc.. are from the North East? So those who make a difference in the pitch aren't from 'up here'

How can we get rid of the press? I don't follow. Who are the trouble makers? It's all very cryptic
