It’s official: Southampton is the fourth worst town in the UK with only London, Bradford and Chipping Norton being voted crappier in a recent Telegraph feature. The coveted ‘Crap Town’ title was given to London, in the new book “Crap Towns Returns – Back by Unpopular Demand”, and was voted on by members of the public. Gripes given about London included high living costs, packed tubes and tourist steak houses. Southampton gained its position due to the “grotty modern developments” that characterise it, with the biggest tourist attraction being the West Quay shopping centre (which upon reflection, is very true). It is a well known fact that on weekends, Southampton is a bore with the only options to travel to the nearby New Forest or Bournemouth to ‘see the sights’. It was also described as an embarrassment as Britain’s major cruise port: a sure sign of neglect? There were also surprise entries in the top ten for High Wycombe and Chipping Norton at positions 9 and 3 respectively. High Wycombe paid the price for having too many chain stores, while Chipping Norton’s association with the UK’s political and media elite caused it to plummet in to the top ten. Crime rates in Southampton surprisingly fell from 2012-2013, therefore it’s open to interpretation as to why the city is deemed so ‘crappy’ in addition to the reasons given. Here at Soton Tab we think it might be the grey, dull, left-behind outlook that Southampton possesses, combined with the ‘local talent’ that truly makes Southampton… well, ****. Areas such as Millbrook, Eastleigh and Shirley are some of the scariest places to venture to, with the Common, (during the day) and Hamble being amongst the most pleasant. Suk hampton is a ****'ole - it's official
It's what I'd do, it I wanted to maximise our creative threat, if I felt Abdus was going to be disciplined in a defensive shape for 90 mins away at one of the best attacking sides in the league... If...
I think it's premature to say things like that about Ömür after the few sub appearances he's had. Yes he looks promising, clearly has a nice touch and is an exciting player to have, but I think people are getting a bit carried away about him since Huddersfield.
Perhaps, although he was also our brightest contributor against Swansea when he came on. You could well be right and he may not be as good as Zaroury (though on the bulk of evidence I'm not convinced) but we can't know that until he gets a start. The other element is that he's actually our player while Zaroury isn't, so surely in our best interests to get Omur up to speed quicker..
Zaroury has played a number of games from the start. You don't think Omur from what we've seen deserves a similar chance?
Creatively, yes, but there's 2 sides to the game, and until I've seen him play 90 and not switch off in the defensive shape, then I'll trust Rosenior to make the call.
Speculate all you want, just don't start getting grumpy when I give you a legitimate reason why he may not start just yet.
No one's grumpy. But you're clearly in your 'spoiling for a fight' mood so have come to another thread looking for it. Have a good night.
Not spoiling for anything. Just thinking you're getting a bit ahead of yourself. And I've given my reasons why, without resorting to playground politics.
It will be interesting to see how Carvalho goes from now. His mentor at Fulham is back Seri, that just might spark him into life.
Ita an opinion Orange, we all have them and my opinion is Omur to start he's our player and an unknown talent he might just rip them apart either way he needs game time.
Rosie not yet had three consecutive wins whilst here, never mind three consecutive away victories. I don't see that record being broken tonight but we might get something out the game. 1-1
I know there's the old adage of look after ourselves and all that. But at least a defeat would be tempered by Southampton knocking TWS out of the top 2. Although TWS seem to be on fire at the moment and I fear it would only be temporary anyway
