Birmingham City boss Tony Mowbray has sensationally stepped away from his role to have 'medical treatment' - just over a month since he replaced Wayne Rooney at St Andrew's.

Mowbray, 60, has only presided over eight games since taking charge on January 8, with players said to have been left 'stunned' by the shock news after the veteran coach informed his squad during a meeting at their training ground on Monday morning.

It is unclear what illness Mowbray has been diagnosed with but the club confirmed
Good luck Tony wishing you all the best .

I hate the buzzwords the UK media now use. There's nothing sensational about this headline. Hope he gets well soon.

I thought he must have been around that when we went up with WBA under Brown.

Just been listening to the 1904 podcast and to a man they said what a cracking person Tony is and that he told them what a good job Liam is doing at our glorious club. It was something picked up on a full body scan during a check up before he took the Birmingham job….
