They have meetings but essentially they are just there to implement the head coaches plan. We never played such narrow wingers until Beale came in and we never played a flat midfield 3 either to my recollection. Under Mowbray we didn't use a back 3/5 this season but in Dodds' second game in charge we did.
It's just a synonym for 'night of the long knives' or whatever. Northern people would say 'let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater'
Reading the statement carefully makes me think there is a bit of mutual acceptqnce about it. I wonder how relieved Beale might have been. The bit about him having a tough couple of months is quite telling. He certainly wasnt given the sort of welcome, support and friendship we are rightly known for. I wonder if we hear something from him. I hope he keeps his cards close to his chest personally, and keeps it short and sweet.
I have to say I think that's poor from the Echo and also the players. I'm really pleased he's gone but surely we're better than playing internet likey likey games.
Well, what a terrible appointment MB was. I took pelters when he was rumoured to be in the running, by simply pointing out his shocking record at Rangers. Their fans hated him, and it was said that he’d lost the dressing room. Living in Scotland I witnessed his interviews and news conferences which were awful. There was a lot of fan noise prior to his appointment- WHY did KS go ahead with it? Anyway, it’s not MBs fault he got the job, though I was gutted. I decided all I could do is get behind him, hoping he would prove me wrong. Unfortunately all my fears I expressed came true. Though the treatment he got from some on here was out of order & cringeworthy. Good luck to the next bloke, I just hope it’s someone we can ALL get behind, and will be given time to get it right. Bart
We should ALL get behind anyone that is appointed as manager/head coach of our club. The behaviour of a few over Beale has been an embarrassment to all of us.
Young lads thats their mentality. Unfortunately we have no real experience within our squad and it shows time and time again with inconsistent performaces one week with players looking like world beaters, (Ekwah springs to mind), and the next like a Rabbit caught in the headlights.
Surely ANY head coach the club employs is the one we all get behind? Regardless of past history, accent, appearance etc
Nowt short of disgraceful the welcome he got from our fans let’s be honest. It disgusts me the way some have gone on and made me embarrassed that so many ****ers exist in our support. I’d never have picked him as a coach but was throughly undermined by those who suggest they are fans, some who’ve outed themselves as terrible humans.. That said i’m not convinced he would ever have made us what we need to be but should have at least been respected. Dodds will be the next target I have no doubt and he’s already been one in the recent past. Speakman has a lot to answer for over this last year. He has done a lot of good but left a couple of coaches out to to dry by not giving them the right tools to work with.
