There is a small quarrel developing between the circuits in Barcelona and the street circuit in Valencia. According to Barcelona's new manager, Salvador Servia, The Valencia organizers have not paid for the Grand Prix in 2010. "I was told that Valencia has not paid for hosting the Grand Prix last year," said Servia. "We always pay the day after the race." Yesterday it became clear that Formula 1 races in Barcelona are not financially secure for the next few years. So could it be possible that both spanish grand prixs could be missing form the calandar in a few years? We know that spain is not in a good financial situation. what are your views?
To be honest, both Spanish tracks are terrible for racing - but Catalunya is good for testing. If we didn't have any Spanish GP's, I wouldn't be too bothered.
There are a lot of fans in Spain, so you need one there, but the problem is the European GP is going the the highest bidder. It should change between every european country each year, better still let the drivers vote on where they want on next. The Moto GP has 3 Spanish races I think - Jerez, Catalunya and I think the Valencia track the F1 testing was at. I don't want F1 to become like this, it's not fair on countries that have good tracks. I would actually prefer Belgium to have two if any, they have many historic tracks there
San marino would be a good choice if italy wants 2. Not a Rome street race. shame really as the valencia street circuits thunder was taken by the singapore GP that also debuted the same year. Now it just seems to be a really boring race and its not even pretty.
I like racing Valencia on the game as i'm stupidly fast on street tracks on F1 2010 but its not a great watching track
Valencia has to go, it's a terrible track. The European GP should also be scrapped, there's enough countries with no Grand Prix without giving one country two each year.

Unfortunately, Valencia is under contract for the next few years so we will have to put up with it. By the way congratulations on your promotion to Moderator for the Newcastle forum. Cheers mate, I can only check the IP's of people who've posted on the Newcastle board though. Valencia is sort of the opposite of Melbourne. They don't want their GP but thankfully they're contracted until 2015.
If you go into the moderator control panel, and then go to IP search, you can enter a users name and view all of their IP's (and if any other user logged in with the same IP's) When you are viewing the forum, at the top of the page you should see Forum Tools and Search Forum, but also Administrative Tools --- click the arrow for that and click on "views posts queue" and that will bring you into the mod control panel - well that's how I accessed it anyway.
The Spanish have traditionally been far more passionate about Rallying, MotoGP and even cycle racing than F1. Their interest in F1 was really only ignited when Alonso first became WDC. And as soon as his star fades, the supporters will more than likely fade away too. I still find it hard to believe that Spain holds two GP's, particularly when France doesn't even have one, and in light of Bernie's recent comments about no country needing more than one, when the Rome GP idea was dropped.
I love Valencia... great track, and usually better racing than Monaco. I hope Spain keeps their races next year at least, as Im going to one of them! Just havent decided which yet
Until Alonso started to bring in regular results F1 wasn't even televised in in Spain. Whe I was over there you had to use Sky with a dodgy viewing card to get ITV or BBC 1.
Ive had this argument with someone else on a different forum. F1 was televised but was on regional stations. Some regions it was also more popular than others. It was also broadcast on spanish Satalite TV.
