As I know a lot of you lads seem to travel more than old Saint Nick himself - thought I’d see about some recommendations. Thinking about a European trip next year with me missus and little one. Been to the usual places.. Spain, Portugal, Cyprus, Greece etc but was looking for a trip for its quirky more unknown cities. Any ideas??
A bit of a mix to be fair, definitely gonna try Switzerland. But wouldn’t mind countries like Belgium aswell. Definitely trying Monaco at some point.
In that case, Consett. I'll guarantee you'll never forget it nor experience anything like it ever again.
If you like a simple City break, Haarlem to the west of Amsterdam is really nice. Great bars, cafes, pretty town centre. Saint-Malo in France is well worth a visit, as is Mont Saint Michel for a day trip. I'm fond of the Dordogne as well - Bordeaux is a lovely City, and the whole wine region from there across Libourne/St Emilion across to Bergerac is great if you like food & wine. Vienna is also a spectacular place to visit, and I've heard great things about both Prague and the Croatian coast (Dubrovnik for a City, but the North for beaches).
If you want to go to Monaco, I'd recommend staying a bit outside. I was there a few years ago doing some photography for the Monaco Historic Grand Prix - stayed in a place called Menton to the east. Much cheaper, good little beach and restaurants and about 15/20 mins from centre of Monaco on the train
If you like birds try Romania.... there's 4 women to every one bloke or something and they're all better looking than our standard.
Be more family orientated mate, but thanks for the tip, shall suggest that for a stag do for my brother Worked with a Romanian lad a couple of years back, rough as a dogs arse he was. Quite a corrupt country ain’t it??
Cheers mate, always been interested in Monte Carlo. So some tips of places to stay would come in handy. Heard a few times that Nice is a nice place aswell.
Depends what you're after. Italian lakes (Como & Garda) are lovely, but not especially cheap. Croatia nice too.
Heard great things about Como, went to Florence last year.. lovely to look at but it honestly stunk of **** most places I went. Thought it was me arse at first but realised other tourists were saying the same thing.
