probably not given folk will ignore one good finish and state the same stuff next time he has a shot saved or hit a post.
People were saying Trent can't defend. It doesn't mean that in every single defensive situation he messes up. It's their overarching opinion based on how defensive a player in his position should be. Similarly, some people, me included, have said that Nunez is better when he doesn't have time to think. Again, that doesn't mean in every single situation. It's based on his performance so far. I think he will get better and better and I just enjoy every goal he scores or good move he makes. His future is unwritten and there's no reason to assume that he won't improve in his decision making. I'm never so entrenched in positions, other than my core values that I'm unwilling to change my mind.
No time to think means there's no time for negative thoughts too enter your mind. I was always better instinctively. I'm a pessimistic person and when I had time, I tried to second guessing what the opponent would do rather than concentrate on myself. A more positive person would be better with time to think because they would concentrate on what they should do irrelevant of what the opponent does. Weirdly, I was awesome at penalties though
Agree that's one aspect of it. The other is just not thinking at all i.e not noticing where others are or what they're doing, so in effect you're not using your surroundings to influence your decision. This, of course, works both ways. You either have a natural instinct which 9 times out of 10 works out well or you don't have that natural instinctiveness and it's basically a shot in the dark. Did you decide which way you were going with the penalty beforehand or did you look at the keeper and guess which way he would go?
Decided beforehand and never looked at the keeper, just made sure I hit the side netting. Always got extremely nervous because I was centre of attention (I hate this despite what people think on here ) but never missed one. If I had the choice when closing in on goal, I'd pass to get the assist rather than take it myself
Despite the injuries it was a great win, hung on early doors then took control. We still have a good squad to fill in for those missing..
so season over for him. we will just have to make do with 4 forwards and launch another superstar kid.
I suspect more than better when he doesn't think, he's better when he doesnt feel pressured and has a clear head.
Could do without injuries to three key players when we're just about to start playing two games a week again. Bit of a clogger team on the sly are Brentford, a sort of modern version of '70s Middlesbrough. Dyche's Burnley with a touch of pass-and-move. Sound three points though, but I got the impression from Darren Fletcher that all of our goals should have been disallowed because of Endo's handball in their box in the first half. Seriously, he was still chuntering on about it 20 minutes into the second half.
Ali Taa matip bajcetic thiago jones szobo jota nunez not a bad bunch there that’s currently out injured. Stick a cb and lb in there and it’s a full 11.
it must be said that our goals were not exactly pretty. a couple of howler mistakes and defender not even bothering to move himself in one. long balls forward as well. we took them well but in the end that was a gift from Brentford. long may such gifts continue
Yeah Brentford defence was just poor. Some individual mistakes but it must have been a game plan because they pushed so many players up. For that first goal they had no one on the halfway line. Their deepest player was about 10–15 yards inside our half with Jota. Just left acres of room for one long ball. Also feel the description given to vvd pass is harsh. Seen it described as a hoof clear, it looked far more like a long ball into the space behind as was straight into jota’s run. Salah’s goal, again cb pushed up so high that one flick left huge gap for Salah to run into with the other 2 cb’s being wide We’re a few other chances that didn’t lead to goals where Brentford were pretty much defending on half way line. Now that’s fine if you have quick cb’s that can keep up with Salah Nunez diaz, but Ben Mee and Collins were never going to be able to keep up
what I like about this is he's got an option to roll in jota, an option to go left or right cos their keeper has stood up tall bit he goes and chips like he's never missed in his life. if that hits the bar or flies over all the criticism starts up again, and it's easy miss those. even worse if he scuffs it he looks an absolute moron that's brave so fair play to him for taking it on
