Feels like we've not had many of these this season. Entering the run in now so seems a good as time as any. Hull (H) Millwall (H) Brum (A) Preston (H) Sunderland (H) Leicester (A) The four home games we should be looking at maximum points from really though Hull and Sunderland will be tough. Brum might be harder than it looks on paper with Mowbray there who countered us perfectly while at Sunderland earlier in the season. Then of course the Leicester match which is probably our toughest of the entire season. Depending on results leading up to it though it could be even bigger...
The big thing is that 4 of our next 5 are at home. Can't take anything for granted but I'll be disappointed if we don't get at least 4 wins from those first 5 games.
Would love to see us pay back the Mackems with a similar scoreline in our favour this time. I could definitely see 5 wins and a draw against Leicester to set up a new unbeaten run, i'll go for13-16 points.
The way this race for 2nd is going we’re probably going to have to win the first 5 to take the pressure off the Leicester result. Not to say that we can’t get a result against Leicester, but be good if we didn’t need to beat them. Might be a tough ask to achieve that in reality, and we might not need to, but just going by the pace of the race for second so far.
Well now we have ourselves in the nice position of needing to win all four of those games coming up, including Leicester away.
So 2 wins and 2 defeats from the 4 games with the other 2 being postponed. Not a great return but reasons to be fairly optimistic with our last 2 performances and have definitely largely recovered from our February wobble. Said all season that Easter is normally massive in the football league and it certainly feels so for us. Beat Boro and Ipswich and we'll have huge momentum and will likely push all the way. One game at a time territory now though really. Break will do us some good with the fixture pile up coming.
