Dear me - not saying we've been great and performances aren't a little ropy but boy the WO comments section is one depressing place!

Are we so conditioned to managers coming and going that all people can talk about is wanting another one.

Maybe it's not just us either.

I see Sunderland, Millwall and Stoke fans want to change theirs having not been at those clubs 2 months.

Guess that is modern football for you!

Modern football which no doubt started in 2012 in everybody's minds...

It's not only the Wobby comments section that is a depressing place - the negativity on Twitter and in so-called 'fan groups' on Facebook is sometimes beyond belief. The only comfort I get from reading the latter is that they mostly appear to be written by illiterate Outer *****lian urchins with very little, if any, knowledge of the English language. Stringing one word together is a challenge for them, never mind stringing two...

Of course they offer no alternative to Ismael as a replacement who will play this all out attacking exciting football some want to see .

Modern football just isn’t like that now.

To me Watford fans long for the GT type football and tactics but they aren't generally employed these days tbh.

As frustrating as watching sloppy passing and slow build up play can be it seems to be the modern way with many teams.

And suddenly getting a new manager and even owner might not change that .

I get the sense that non-League football is becoming more & more popular, certainly here in Scotland, because teams play "the old-fashioned" way. Less skillful maybe, but passes go in the direction they are meant to, end-to-end stuff, more goalmouth action and more entertaining. Even Buckie Thistle got plaudits from Celtic fans for playing that way in their recent cup tie.

I really don't understand why fans are prepared to fork out good money to watch some of the dross served up in the top divisions - their teams may win, but winning ugly isn't exactly entertainment in my book.

I think Ismael is doing a competant job and the stability is welcome. He is open and honest and seems to have a plan, which is to get into the playoffs. I am hoping the Pozzo's stick with him, they have after all extended his contract. They could have given him the chop during the last few weeks but didn't. However if things go back they may have second thoughts during the next international break, which is their style. I would like him as manager next season to see if we can kick on further.

As a side note, the chalet we stayed in in Courchevel in our recent ski holiday was called Valerian - it was written. :)

    Good point .

It should be entertaining but the game does seem to be more and more about possession stats than shots and crosses .

Last season we were either dross or scintillating, we had 3/4 show ponies who could win a game on their own or combine and destroy a team but so inconsistent we were left frustrated. this season we have just the one who demonstrated in the last two games what he can achieve and the rest of the team are workmanlike with the odd flash of brilliance but are often missing the spark to perform, we need the defence and holding midfielders to dig in and win .like yesterday, plus the forwards and attacking midfielders to play like they have done in games where we have scored three or more goals, again we need to be consistent to string some results together

I hope we can keep Asprilla as he is our most talented player with a lot of potential but needs beefing up and to learn to be more of a team player, and we need to keep Andrews

Watching Luton v Man U today showed how a group of average players with one or two really good ones can take on the top teams in the Prem, they deserved at least a draw but Man U won the game in the first ten minutes

we’ve had to work our way up through the divisions and currently play in second tier , v competitive , exciting and honest , plus you know all the players , who are your mates lads etc , nathan broadhead is a 1876 fan !
oh and it’s £6 to watch a game ....change ends at half time ......corporate football has lost its connection

Sadly I fear those 2 might be off if we need the money and that is my worry .

    What is the financial situation?

Are we looking for new investors to boost our coffers of course that isn’t always the perfect solution either !

Edwards probably knows they aren’t good at playing the passing game so asks them be more physical and direct to cause problems which we lack.

Although Man U did miss some good chances too.

Mind you Ross Barkley is much better than anything we have in midfield- they have done well to get the best out of him .

It's £8 up here to watch a Highland League game - £10 if you want to sit. Which I don't as my local team's stand faces directly into the Moray Firth and the wind whistles straight from the North Pole - it's bloody freezing in winter...

I suspect that there is a larger picture here, than the one that Watford fans see going on about at the Vic. For legal reasons, both Watford and Udi are owned by the same family, but in theory have different entities. Udi have a mediocre side again, and do not have talented spare players they can lend to us. They are probably/possibly more secure financially than Watford, as seen by them taking players from us, who warm the bench by and large. However, their stadium was far from full yesterday, and maybe a decision has been taken to pull the reigns in as they do not have the players that will fetch the money in.

Which makes sense in these difficult times. We have seen clubs trying to spend their way into promotion, which if it fails leaves them in danger of disappearing altogether.

True and we have wasted a lot of money in the past.

A shame really as for a few years we recruited well - like Luton and Brighton have now.

They can say it's boring, negative and not entertaining which might well be true in recent weeks but I just cannot think of a manager who would come in and instantly play the way people want to see.

I mean people ask for 2 up front but we only have 2 fit strikers - one of whom is seen by some as the worse ever we've had and the other more of a wide attacker I feel (Dennis)

And you just know what will happen if we all flood forward or play the ball forward quickly but then lose it and the opposition score - everyone will say we were too rash and over eager in our play.

What I think we need is more pace in the team maybe and the midfield to control the game better - maybe Kayembe coming back will do that allowing Kone to push forward more?

Asprilla is favour of the week at the moment naturally but seen him get criticised this season.

It seems Saturday was very much a case of lets get a result at all costs even if it's rubbish.

Now let's see if we can progress as a team maybe with Andrews and Dennis coming into the side and hopefully performing.

I would say having a settled side might help - does seem to be a lot of chopping and changing.

Final score 2-2. A second half double from Adu Poku after Bournemouth scored twice just before half time.
