Well a long journey back yesterday from another disappointing day overall. My own view on the game was 1st half played OK had their back 4 and keeper making loads of mistakes capitalising on one of them with Clarkes goal and almost another with Mundle. Deserved to go in at half time ahead . The worry at half time was exactly what has been said which safc would turn up 2nd half, more of the same or a sit back soak up and ultimately concede Sunderland. We all know what happened. Terrible 2nd half outfought for every 50-50 the desire and passion to compete missing. Subs were questionable Ba is a liability and could have seen red. Thought Mundle showed good touches and pace. Ekwah for a big lad is a pussy. Fans very restless and rightly so. What was said at half time for them to put on such a ****show of a 2nd half I don't know but God it was dreadful. I've been sat on the fence with Beale the club appointed him and I get behind the club and players but I just don't see this appointment having any other ending than Beale leaving the club soon or at the end of the season. The season is petering out and sometimes you have to bite the bullet admit your mistakes and take decisive action. Our away form is dreadful no plan other than get the ball to Clarke and hope for a bit of magic. A very disappointing week 0 points from two very winnable games and only 45 minutes decent play out of the 2 games. Time for the leadership of the club to decide where we go from here. Some big decisions to be made and with season card renewals on the horizon they need to make them quick. Apologies for the long post but it's been another hard tiring week following the club. The faith is being tested but I'll do my best to keep it. Roll on Swansea.
I no longer have any expectations for this season, which is pretty **** considering we are still only 4 points from the playoffs. The only decent results under Beale seem to have been when the opposition have been missing chance after chance early on and then we have started to perform. That’s only going to happen in rare occasions so the gap will widen imo. If I was manager I’d be trying different setups right now and giving other players a run in the team, it’s a simplistic view but worth a shot. Certainly at home.
That was damage limitation from Beale… the whole world could see what happened. Not great management skills but highly predictable
Well Seelt will be getting a chance, with the suspension of Ballard, and I cant see O'Nien lasting much longer before he gets his 10th booking But would like to see Rigg get more minutes, we have had so many opportunities to get him on the field and nothing happens
It’s another forced change though rather than a tactical adjustment, just like when Beale was forced to play Ba on the right because Pritchard left…even though Pritch is poor there he’d have still been playing right wing now. The bloke seems to have no ideas of his own or even a grasp on how unbalanced the team is at times.
i still think it's **** how seelt has been delt with was my man of the match against stoke, and then hasn't started since, don't think i've seen him have a poor game
Don't think it's necessarily writing the season off but we need to be using the squad more. Its mentioned about lots of games and keeping players fresh but it's always the same players who are replaced/used and then a regular 9 players that start every game. Or are the players signed not good enough and that's why they're not being used
Because that's what proper fans do, it's a young team who played well first half but were poor 2nd half. They clapped them off because it's young lads who are out of form, but are still putting effort in
I would start Rigg in some games, the lad is good enough and he always looks to drive forward and make something happen
Having slept on things, I'm still struggling to see where this goes. There has been no improvement since we changed head coach and performances are patchy at best. Aside from the Hume incident yesterday, the second half was awful against a team that have struggled pretty much all season. Is it all down to Beale? No I don't think it is and I have some sympathy for him as he hasn't been able to bring in a right hand man and has to use the coaches already here, then add in recruitment which is looking patchy, Mundle looks decent, but very raw, Hejdle is a centre back playing out of position (may as well play Seelt right back and move Hume over) and Styles injured. I'm trying to be positive, but it just feels like we will stumble to the end of the season and then who knows
At this stage, I'd be tempted to drop Clarke for a game, maybe two. He's so obviously our main attacking threat that it's obvious from a tactical point of view that stopping him is half the battle in beating us. I also think it might be worth taking him out so that the rest of the team have to work things out for themselves without relying on the threat he carries. As for the incident yesterday, I agree that part of management is respecting your people. Part of management, is also administering a bollocking when it's required. Part of being a team player is taking a bollocking when it's required. I'm afraid all of this can't-snub-him-in-public stuff comes across as soft as ****e to me. Even then, I think its much more likely that he genuinely didn't realise Hume was putting his hand out. He took a step back into his path, which you wouldn't do if you were intentionally ignoring someone.
Haven't read the whole thread but the nappy wetting over the Hume "snub" would be hilarious if it wasn't so pathetic. It's like people have never had to focus on anything before in their lives. A man who is fighting for his job and intently watching a game of football which could literally decide his entire future and people think he should be worrying about what's going on in his peripheral vision piss off with that. He's explained what happened, people trying to use this as a stick to beat him with are just looking for excuses to have a go at him. There are clearly issues with Beale, talk about the tactics and results. There's definitely a debate to be had. But this Hume thing is a complete and utter storm in a teacup. He just didn't see him, get over it. Also what I will say is, Jobe passes to Clarke and we win that game. Then people on here are talking about "maybe Beale is the right man for the job, we can push for the playoffs." One misplay by one player and it's "Beale has to go immediately"... Fine margins.
Seelt should be braying on the door the lads never put a foot wrong and barley gets a sniff, luckily he gets his chance now thanks to suspensions
Agreed Social media frenzy, utterly, utterly pathetic Since when did the manager have to shake hands with every player who has been subbed ?
