Can I just add, that while Beales actions have been debated on this forum tonight with a seemingly a small amount of people, type "Michael Beale news" into Google, and the "snub" is everywhere. I said earlier on that only this morning talksport were on about managers publicly snubbing each other and the media storm that it always brings, and low and behold, 7 hours later. Not saying it was done because of this, and to be fair, up until this today, all the Beale stuff had pretty much calmed down. He was the coach doing his job. Now this.
Because the press love to whip a story. They've column inches to fill, clicks to bait (or whatever) things like this always get blown out of all proportion and will be forgotten about by most people by tomorrow.
I’ve said before he’ll ultimately be judged on results, my worry is we sleepwalk into next season (I don’t think we’ll be near making the playoffs) with the same uninspiring coach on a downward spiral.
The team were losing their way when Mowbray was sacked, now Beals has almost single handedly destroyed the final pieces of team and fans spirit. He is lying when he said he didn't see Hume but it was cowardly not to acknowledge him or shake his hand.
It will be interesting every time Beale makes a sub now with the tv cameras and 40,000 all watching him to make sure he shakes hands. It may well have been Beale not seeing Hume but I bet he’s learned a lesson today.
While this is true, it's something that will be reported and viewed as "something" because of the reaction he got when he came in.
I'm.sure Trai Hume is over it by now and couldn't give a **** that his manager left him hanging. I'm pissed off with our performance and annoyed we aren't getting into play offs but some of the hyperbole is laughable but not.unsurprsing
Just watched their second goal Hume fouls somebody then turns his back on the ball and walks slowly away Their player takes a quick free kick amd they score Awful play from Hume, no wonder the manager blanked him for such a dreadful schoolboy error
Said I’d give Beale until end of Feb before judging him. Not looking great and needs a big turn up in performances if he’s going to make it past end of season. Question is what do we between now and end of season. Dodds doesn’t want it. Wasn’t much out there and I doubt little has changed. Best option I can think off is Allardyce now the transfer window is closed. Think he could be good for the younger coaches to learn off. Might even get us promoted if there’s a fat brown envelope full of cash in it.
Is it though? Do you honestly believe the squad he inherited is a nailed on play off side? I certainly don't and the deficiencies weren't addresses in January. A new.coach would paper over cracks in short term
See comments like that are part of the problem. It absolutely was broken, we were abysmal in the last few weeks under Mowbray and I won't be told otherwise. Just because the next appointment was incorrect doesn't mean the sacking was wrong.
Did none of the staff or other players on the bench tell Beale that he’d snubbed Hume? Don’t believe that Hume hadn’t said anything when he sat down cause he didn’t look happy at all walking past him
This season feels like it should've been last season. By that I mean, this year we're playing like we're trying to steady a ship that's just came up, win some, loose some, neive play at times etc etc, where as the way we were playing last year is the kick on season, all seems a bit backwards.
It is relevant in my opinion. Only because some of you have been anti beale since before day one. When Pritch spat the dummy you backed him. When Beale showed frustration you want him sacked. It is a nonsense stance you take, and completely imbalanced in favour of the players. The same players who have been awful the last two games. Some of what has gone on the last 2 games are nothing to do with Beales tactics, it is to do with players commitments and desire. Bare reality is we have players and subs that lack what it takes to compete for promotion. Fergie wouldnt get them promotes this season, we are light years away in terms of players. I see posters raving about out bench, I see a bunch of inexperienced and unready players for promotion. Any coach asked to coach us isnt daft. We can sack Beale and do the usual 2 week dance of idiots where we think we can attrwct highky thought of coaches but to see they laugh at us. Sacking Mowbray was ludicrous in the extreme, and now we want the only lad who woulr entertain us gone. Time for a reality check lads, we are simply unattractive to coaches .
