    Rotherham v Watford.

Rewind back to January the 14th, Watford had just won away 1-2 against QPR, were 8th in the table and knocking on the play-off positions' door. Then 3 draws followed, then 4 losses. That has included 1 draw and 1 loss in the F.A. Cup. That is a bad run. We now sit in 12th and with no win in 7, or 5 league games. We've scored 4, 5 including the FA Cup, and let in 8, 12 including the FA Cup, in that time. These aren't good statistics. This is a downward trend, at the upcoming business end of the season.

Sure, all teams can go on a bad run, although this seems to have been compounded by a lack of transfer activity in January. Only Dennis came in and is relatively unfit, whilst Louza and Healey left. Hoedt has played every minute this season. VI has even played TDB at right back. The players seem to lack a bit of confidence, and more disturbingly, guts, goals and the ability to defend. Maybe some are already thinking that the season is a mid-table stalemate.

Rotherham have won 3 times all season. They are rock bottom. They haven´t won since boxing day. If there is any hope of a faint play-off push, then we have to win Saturday. Otherwise, the season will just drift away into a lost cause. Some might even suggest that a loss Saturday could put VI´s position in doubt. As we all know, Gino Pozzo loves a change and it'd possibly be about time, in his mind, before the final stretch of games.

    TEAM NEWS TO FOLLOW.

    ENJOY THE GAME.

    <cheers>

The EFL website has announced that Andrew Kitchen has been appointed to officiate in the fixture against the Championship’s basement side Rotherham United.

It will be Kitchen’s second Hornets match in less than a month after he took charge of the 1-1 draw at Bristol City on January 20, having also been in the middle for the 1-0 victory at Swansea City in October.

Daniel Leach and Alistair Nelson are due to be the assistant referees, with Scott Oldham the fourth official.

Andrew Kitchen had a very decent game in Bristol. Unlike Saturday (Leicester) when there was plenty of reason to berate the officials, I didn't moan at him once. That's what fans and players want: an unfussy, competent, team of officials that are "invisible".

Posting from the train into Rotherham. The day has gone too well for us to win. Easy drive to Derby last night, breakfast with my Goddaughter and her family this morning;Seats on both trains, a stag and hen do on this carriage lol. Full fancy dress, good effort!

Asprilla, Kayembe , Sierralta and Pollock in which isn’t bad but has he had a falling out with Andrews hasn’t he and showing he didn’t want Dennis ?

Presumably TDB is at right back again?

Yes unless Sierralta plays there and TDB into midfield.

According to VI - “We saw with Ryan that with every game the data was going down, down, down. He wasn’t able to push anymore. That’s a sign of fatigue, and it meant we needed to manage him. It’s his first full season, and my job is to manage the workload for him and all my players. That is the reason.”

I'd say that Dennis is pretty much in the same category - hasn't got what it takes fitness-wise for 90 minutes yet.

Seventh game in twenty days. Managing your players becomes hard with a small squad to choose from.

Fair point but then we needed to another right back in unless they hoped Ngakia would be fit .

What if Dennis and Andrews need to come on earlier than expected ?

Are they fit enough for that ?

Depends who they need to replace I suppose - a reshuffle could be the first option. Such as Pollock to right back for a while before bringing on Andrews.
