My laptop decided to die about a week ago, so I had to find the last one I had buried in a cupboard.

Anyway I was a bit pissed off because it meant I lost all the bookmarks to the music I've gathered over the years for guitar. I didn't realise your google chrome account carried it all over for you, so it was just a case of signing in on the other device and everything was there, it was an identical copy of everything on your previous device.

 

You're an IT guru with all your buttons and cryptographic coding running a world-famous international football forum, and you did not know this?

This is like Sucky trying to buy football tickets all over again!

 

I knew it stored your photos but didn't realise it saved bookmarks as well. I've got all my music and language videos stored in bookmarks, so was relieved when they all reappeared. I have to have some sort of organisation otherwise I become scatter brained and never achieve completing stuff.

 

If you login to your chrome account on the mobile it syncs it all and appears on there too.

Convenient and saves a lot of hassle.

 

Yeah that's it it's on my phone as well. Tbph I was trying to avoid this old Toshiba laptop from doing a windows update, because I wasn't sure if it could handle windows 10/11, but this silly **** forgot to plug it into the mains this morning so it eventually killed the battery - then when I plugged it in, it went straight into update windows on reboot, and I'm like oh bolloxs! It survived it though, so was quite pleased, rescued an old laptop, updated it and got all my stuff back.

 

Exactly the same as me mate!

yea, all this stuff is configured in the google account and there are loads of defaults where it saves your stuff.

i found out the other day you can even create a zipped backup of all the stuff they have saved (photos included) if you want to export it and put it in your local storage

 

If I somehow end up at Wembley I want a full thread of apology with videos and music.

 

Pictures or gtfo.
