Gervinho's finishing is terrible. So is his hair. He needs to visit the same barber as me... mr Gillette mac 3. However everything else about his game is excellent.
Thats what makes it even worse, he didn't know RVP was behind him, so he should've made sure of the shot instead of dicking about.
LOL ... my brother reckons he has one of those Shaolin Monks hairstyles .. where they shave their hair at the front and leave the back half in place. In any case it is pretty messed up, clearly those boys are not his friends otherwise they would've told him that in London .. we don't look like that. Nobody has bothered telling Sagna either ..
Interesting player. He seems to able to beat people with ease, something Nasri could not do. But unlike Nasri last season for us, he is not very clinical in the final 3rd. He got 15 goals for Lille last season and has 2 for us. Nasri, did not score many when he first came here and needed time. So, Gervinho is still finding his feet in a new league and country. But it is nice to have a player that is ready to run at people and get the game moving.
this! if he would of gone for it properly chances are he would of had to stretch at a funny angle and would of ****ed everything up knocking the ball away = no goal.
That just shows the difference of football nowadays, even the worst defender would get that ball and not just let it bounce off them and to the attacker, either that or they'd break his legs
He was trying to improvise you idiot. The ball was coming as a great speed and plenty of players have scored with that skill. The ball was put in the back of the net regardless so stop complaining your such a typical englishman where if someone tries something different and it doesn't come off then he gets slated for it. What you should be more concerned about was the one-on-one that he missed in the first half and he great chance in the second when he rounded the keeper but couldn't finish. Gervinho is another player who is still adapting but is getting better and will prove to be a real star for us later on in the season.
LOL, I'm an idiot ? I'll make you look like the dunce you are, you can't argue and clearly you know nothing about football !! Fool take your beating. Look at the video: Watch the first replay, you can see the ball is played in front of Gervinho to run on to - he CHOOSES to do a skip then drag his back leg toward the ball. Anyone who can do that trick or has played football knows that if the ball is behind you you CANNOT do that motion and get any power in the shot whatsoever, you certainly wouldn't be better off doing that than striking the ball properly. I suggest you don't argue when adults are arguing, you are way out of your depth, chump !
Samir, I'm not a moaner, but this season the club have narked me sufficiently, they rattled my cage. On 606 I was pro Wenger, you couldn't sway me. Yes the players we had were inconsistent but they always managed to perform to a satisfactory level over the long term. Okay we fell short of where we wanted to finish but, I supported Wenger's methods. This season however was a different kettle of fish, only a lemming would be confident of us doing well when we failed so miserably during the last quarter of the previous season - then we sell our 2 best players and keep a load of dross. There was nothing for me to celebrate. I've always been of the opinion that Wenger MUST acknowledge his mistakes and fix them. He MUST be able to adapt more otherwise we will fall behind. Yes he made some purchases and they need time to gel but, that sour taste has been left in my mouth and I am angry that we were even in this position in the first place. I supported Wenger and the team without question during the past 7 years, I'm pretty old school in that I supported Arsenal since the 70s, so I know where our position is in the pecking order, but football has changed and we can no longer be happy with mediocrity. We are a top football club, one of the biggest in world football, we should act like one.
Trying to improvise. ? Trying to improvise ? FFS . He hasnt earned the right to "improvise " in his goal scoring yet. FFS he has missed so many chances its unreal. Then he trys this ridiculous showboating goal. !! Try scoring some goals normally first Gervinho you feckin fool. ! Its a good job RVP was their to bale him out aint it. waaaaaaaaaanker ! i hope he does get better or we'll be watching the latest movie .......................... Chamakh 2 , the striker that never was.
"His finishing has been weak thus far - but he can improve that. Henry's was weak too when he first joined." I hope your right. Coz at the moment he is winding me up with his wasteful attempts. I didnt see that attempt at a back heel tap in till hothead posted the link , not impressed.
That he runs at the opposition and forms part of a good attacking team is a plus. When he started with us he was scoring quite admirably so I'm hoping he's looking for his comfort zone and all the missed opportunities will make us appreciate him more when he resumes scoring again - fingers crossed
??? did you watch the video ? Watch the video again, I was kind enough to post a link and remark on which replay to observe, it proves my point conclusively. In what vision are you seeing a ball played behind him ??? Walcott was in front of him and played it square, Gervinho was running on to the ball. How in Jupiter's name was the ball BEHIND Gervinho ? Egad man ! How was RVP, who was a body length behind Gervinho able to score, why wasn't the ball "coming in at speed" to him also ?? And ... another one - on - one miss last night also !!!!!
My big issue with Gerv is his seeming inability to trap/cushion the ball when passed to him at speed or from a distance. I don't recall ever seeing him receive the ball only for it not to bounce off him some 6 feet or so away.
