No surprise that Fraser and Stu are back in the XI. I'm never a fan of KWP at LB (I'm assuming that he's starting there tonight), but I do understand why Martin would want to go a little bit more defensive tonight (no Downes, six goals conceded in two games, tough away game) - and in that respect, it's not like he has many options other than to bring in Stephens. Big opportunity for Mara.
Given 4 our our next 5 league games are at home after tonight, last thing we want to do is rush Downes back and he gets injured again (see Olise with Palace). It's a blow, but far from fatal. I guess he's put Stephens in to give extra defensive protection.
I'm very pleased to see that Erik Pieters is again playing make-shift CB for them. Looks like Bartley is still injured, and Ajayi has only made the bench following his recent return from AFCON. Even when in his usual LB position, Pieters has looked well past his best for a few years now. Cardiff couldn't take advantage on Tuesday. Hopefully we can tonight.
Team sheet not filling me with confidence. Oh well. Managed to get an amazing curry for me and the boy for £20, I've had a couple of pints and we're ready to sing our hearts out for the lads
