This is the other part of the debate that doesn't get much attention. That there's sizeable population of Jews who are calling out Israel's actions in Gaza.

Are they Anti-semitic for expressing Free Palestine sentiments ?

This is where you can see how the narrow definitions aren't fit for purpose.

Fair play. Folk said this was the right thing to do. Just need the Palestinians to do the right thing now and we can start living in a world of peace :emoticon-0152-heart

Ukraine making 'every effort' to end war on 'fair terms', Zelenskyy says

An interesting line from the Ukrainian president in the past few minutes...

In a statement released on social media, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said: "We are making every effort to end the war as soon as possible on fair Ukrainian terms and ensure a lasting peace."

It's a change in tone: Mr Zelenskyy has throughout the war insisted hostilities would not cease until Ukraine has pushed Russian forces from every inch of its territory - and that he would refuse any terms that would involve giving up Ukrainian land.

However, with the war set to enter its third year soon, and Western support beginning to dwindle, suggestions have been made by some analysts that Ukraine could head for the negotiating table and soften its stance.

It is unclear exactly what Mr Zelenskyy's statement means, although some reporters from Ukrainian outlets are suggesting it means a peace deal could be on the horizon.

Navalny fell unwell during a walk and lost consciousness. Only yesterday he appeared on video link looking fit and well.

Latest from Netanyahu and his far right government ministers...

“At the cabinet meeting, I clarified my position regarding the recent talk of imposing a Palestinian state on Israel. My position is summed up in the following two sentences:

    1. Israel outright rejects international dictates regarding a permanent settlement with the Palestinians. Such an arrangement will be reached only through direct negotiations between the parties, without preconditions.

    2. Israel will continue to oppose the unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state. Such recognition in the wake of the October 7 massacre would give a huge reward to unprecedented terrorism and prevent any future peace settlement.”

    Meanwhile...

Thousands of participants gathered in Jerusalem last month for a far-right conference calling for the re-settlement of the Gaza Strip and the transfer of the Palestinian population living there.

Entitled "Conference for the Victory of Israel – Settlement Brings Security: Returning to the Gaza Strip and Northern Samaria," the conference included speeches from many public figures, including Knesset members and ministers from the current coalition government, as well as rabbis, settlement activists, families of soldiers currently fighting in Gaza, and heads of southern councils.

During the conference, participants were presented with details of Jewish settlements, maps, and the stages of preparation, along with calls for decision-makers to acknowledge that a war victory can only be claimed through the Jewish resettling of the Gaza Strip.

Far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir of the Otzma Yehudit party and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich of the Religious Zionist party attended the event, featuring as key speakers.

On the prospect of "voluntary emigration" of Palestinian civilians from Gaza, which was brought up numerous times by Israeli coalition lawmakers since the war began, Minister Karhi explained that, in war, "'voluntary' is at times a state you impose [on someone] until they give their consent.'" <laugh>

Likud minister Haim Katz said that, "Today, after 18 years, we have the opportunity to rebuild and expand the land of Israel. This is our final opportunity."

Not ethnic cleansing at all <ok>

This lot and Putin have a lot in common.

I can't be arsed to read back, but I'm not sure I even defined it as antisemtic (at marches), maybe I did, but I certainly wasn't referring to marches. My main point was that if you fly Palestinian flags in an area not during marches, and also graffiti bridges within that same area, it can cause concern within the community it is directed at, and I still fully stand by those thoughts. It would be like me vandalising a bridge with the words 'no refugees' - no matter your cause, firstly graffiti is vandalism, and secondly people should not be subject by what could perceived as intimidation. Let's not kid ourselves here, concern has been caused within the Jewish community, plenty of videos and stories out there I'm sure in way of evidence. Pinkie in my eyes is wrong when he says it's ok to graffiti a bridge, surely that's even worse than Chief stealing a breakfast roll, and maybe claiming he's doing it to raise awareness to feeding the kids in Africa lol.

My post was tongue in cheek not aimed at your posts.

Fwiw I agree. I'll also add fckbrains who drive round Hendon shouting stuff or run up to random Jewish ppl and shout stuff in their face about Palestine is antisemitic bcos you're specifically targeting ppl bcos of their race/religion.

These ppl are fcking morons. I put them in the same bracket as the dickhead who climbed up the war memorial a few months ago. I can't stand them tbph. All they do is undermine the cause of the vast majority who are genuinely interested in bringing ppl together.

My only point was that I don't trust the CST and what they class as antisemism. I think they lump the examples we've given above, in with any criticism of Israel or every call for Palestinian independence.

One last point (bcos I think this antisemitism thing has been done to death) I don't know if there's been any violence towards jews since Oct 7th? After 9/11 and for years after, there were countless physical assaults on muslims. A girl was pushed down concrete stairs in an underground station. Other ppl were physically assaulted and women had their hijabs pulled off. Even cases of sikhs being targeted bcos some morons thought their turbans meant they were part of alqaeda. My point here is, where were the tabloids highlighting this across their front pages then??

I just don't believe any of these fckers give a **** about anyone really. But there is a decidedly biased view in terms of how things are reported for one group over another. And it's the way the public are being conditioned and manipulated towards different groups and ethnicities.

    Fair enough Trebs.

Tbph I've not ever read any of the CST stuff nor know who they are lol. I think Pinkie might have put up a link up but I never even clicked it. I just form my own moral views in life and couldn't give a shhite what some media source might think.

I remember not so long ago on here Citizen Kane responding to my claim that Israel would use this assault as an expansion of their territory, with the assertion that Israel wants nothing to do with Gaza long term, and will not entertain having any governance over the strip.

Watch next after Gaza is turned to rubble and ethically cleansed. Israel and the US will talk about rebuilding for the future, under the premise of security and stability. Lots of lucrative contracts will be handed out to their buddies to build infrastructure, none of it for Palestinians. I fully expect to see the Ben Gurion canal project pushed as a 'stable and secure' shipping route away from Egypt who will be tasked with housing Palestinian refuges. Strategic control of a shipping route worth billions of $$$$$ handed to Israel and the US under a false flag of 'preventing terrorists from disrupting commercial shipping'

As you have said, and Welshie points out, there's more than just a similarity of haircuts between Putin and Netanyahu

Right wing zealots around the world will be cheering for these two murderous ****s. And they will have seen how the West enabled Netanyahu to enact genocide and get away with it. Dark times indeed.

The CST aren't a media group. They are a self defined Jewish security group, who 'police' jewish areas, schools, synagogues etc and encourage people to report 'anti-semitic' incidents. The report they compiled, which the media picked up on with their 'Explosion in Hatred' headlines, was supplied to news outlets by the CST

I guess the closest analogy would be that they are like a Jewish private security company. Although they receive something like £15m of taxpayer money each year for their operations.

Egypt don’t want to touch the Palestinians. It wasn’t too long ago they were smuggled into the Sinai to fight alongside affiliated groups to ISIS against the Egyptian army. As well as supporting Hamas they also snuggle up to the IRA.

    Sound innocent folk, though.
