15 minutes at the end of each game will do. I’m sure Jones will use him more like Bowyer did. Rather than like Appleton trying to play him from the start in repeated games .
Saving Charlton Athletic from relegation to the 4th Division for the first time in its history. No pressure Chuks. Sadly I seriously doubt that if we do stay up, it will have anything to do with Aneke. Not that he doesn't owe us.
I personally don't think he 'owe's us'. He signed the contract he was offered - was that wrong? And I doubt very much he is happy about unending injuries that put his career in real danger. Having seen some of the players come back from injury tip toe through their come back games, Chucks was a real change of pace. He came on on tuesday and immediately began to get in the Linclin defenders faces - they hated it and suddenly began to accept that a point from us might be fine. I'm no happier than anyone else about the money chucks has cost us, but I find some of the sniping pretty embarrassing. If we can keep hime fit from now to the end of the season, he'll generate chances and goals for us. And the fact we are where we are in the table isn't on Chucks, it's our repeat refusal to pay the going rate to a similar type of player who doesn't have the injuries Chucks has.
If I took as much time off work as Chuks has - even if I couldn't help it - I would feel that I owed my employer. And I'm probably not on a quarter of the money he is earning.
Nah. I thought he did the best he could. He had a split second to react and wasn’t able to physically get his head at the right angle to direct the ball. Leave Chuks alone
Comes off the bench Tuesday, and not on the bench today. Yet people still think he's an important cog
Jones obviously gets it with Chuks. You have to choose when to play him very carefully. It was Appleton’s biggest mistake to start Chuks in games. If anyone hadn’t noticed, look at the aftermath of Anderson’s goal against Derby. Everyone else is going crazy running over to Karoy. Chuks is bent over with his hands on his knees looking like he’s just completed four and half miles around Aintree.
Just an opinion but I think with Aneke coming on in the 65th minute, we'd have got a sdcond today and won. But we travrl to Chrltrnhsm tuesday. Win that and we move away from danger significantly. If Nathan wants Aneke coiled and ready to spring on tuesday, I'll trust his judgement.
