I wonder why Man U may think Ashworth is the solution to their problems though, Ashworth will still be forced into making marquee signings like Sancho and Antony for a fortune that turn out to be dogshite.
Apparently the ex-Liverpool DoF Edwards is close friends with Howe, so that one may be worth watching it Ashworth does indeed leave.
Few transfers have been baffling, not necessarily bad, just baffling. Ashby signing then bringing in Livramento Selling ASM then bringing in Barnes who cost more than we got for him. Signing Tonali before signing a new right winger. Lewis Hall one has proven to be bonkers so far. The signings of Kuol and Minteh and ****ing them off out on loan without even a single training session seems like a **** house move too. Welcome to the club, don't bother unpacking.
I suspected this and if the club have given Howe control I fear the worst. If Howe had his way we'd have bought Phillips in January.
It might not even be deliberate, but his brain will always lean towards his original emotional decision on a player.. if he wasn't particularly keen and is having back and forths around a table he will do what is required.
Ashworth isn't a scout. He's also not head of recruitment. So where this nonsense is coming from regarding him not being able to sign players he wants is just that. His role is more like a co-ordinator to different departments. Academy Development Squad Womens Team First Team Training Ground Coaching Department Medical department Analytical Department Loan Department Domestic Scouting Department Foreign Scouting Department Each head of department feeds into him. He's not and never has been sole responsible for transfers. There is a transfer committee for a start. Of which Ashworth is on alongside Nickson, Howe, Staveley and Howe's brother I believe.
In the scenario of DoF and manager not agreeing, it's usually the manager who goes. DoF is a long term position, whereas managers are recycled frequently. So IF it's true that Hiwe & Ashworth don't agree, and IF the club are allowing Ashworth to leave on that basis, then yes, it is worrying. Personally, I think there's just stuff being stirred up now because that's jucier than just saying someone might be tempted by Man United.
Not sure but I specifically recall reading that Newcastle had lined this guy up in case Ashworth goes full Judus. I read it and knew immediately it was true.
Bournemouth don’t even have a DoF. Transfer argument is an easy tabloid headline that the “average fan” can understand and moan about. Probably BS though.
If it was the other way around the media would be criticising Ashworth for not honouring his contract, but unfortunately the rest of the footballing community will find this extremely satisfying and soothing because its the toon being feasted on and belittled...... Ashworth can go a **** himself quite frankly whatever the reasons........ the Mancs makems and haters will be masturbating to this news so we can only hope he fails and his replacement
Just checking it's Leicester Head Physio we've appointed who was Eddie Howe's Head Physio at Bournemouth. That's the story I remember reading recently.
Jesus another one from Bournemouth... the one I read was not the same one mate...tbf I believe pool want him aswel.
Fabrizio seems convinced he will. But I'm still keeping an open mind. It's amazing how quickly some things escalate purely due to media frenzy.
