Something that gets lost in the post match fallout is a lot of credit should go to Huddersfield. Talent-wise they weren’t better than us but they marked Clarke out of the game, won personal duels all over the field and just put more into the game than us.
This always makes me laugh. It's always that our players were **** or our manager is ****. It's almost as if there weren't another team on the pitch and another manager trying to win the game
I’m beginning to think that Ekwah and Bellingham shouldn’t start in the same side, it needs to be one or the other. I really like both players and they’ve got huge potential but the game passes them by far too often. They’re too lightweight.
Do t think so. Seen him marked like that before and still find space. He just had a poor game. Wasn’t alone in that and has money in the bank obviously!!
Disagree, if he had 1 player marking like stoke tried with gooch then he'll destroy them. 2 players marking him he might get a few good runs and have a half decent game but when he has 3 players backing each other up on him then he's got no chance, that's why he looked like he had a bad game last night
50/50 for me mate. The players were crap and lethargic and made multiple wrong decisions. I would’ve started the same team as Saturday and looked at similar substitutions also. Mundle looked decent other than that a collective cock up. HTL KTF
Still disappointed about that last night. Hope they can find a bit extra to go again V a very pumped up Birmingham on Saturday. Can't see it tho.
Unfortunately or not, I missed last nights game and am looking forward to watching the 90 mins, asp. as actually knowing the result will lessen the pain . I am going to watch carefully how we set up from the start .I still think we have some way to go to find a system that works with the players we have available, and that some are picked for reasons other than winning a football match.
Well I've slept on it, to prevent any knee jerk reaction but I'm still a bit annoyed with that performance. There's sitting waiting to break and open teams up and then there's last night. In one word, the performance was lethargic. I'll just give one example. Towards the end of the game we get a corner and Clarke strolls over to take it, We are losing one nil and there is no urgency to get on with things. Why? I'm not singling Clarke out by the way the whole team just didn't seem on it, if you know what I mean. Huddersfield don't have the players that we have but did have effort, determination and worked hard. They deserved the 3 points if I'm honest. I could go on but it would only raise my blood pressure and achieve nothing. Saturday is now a very big game for us and we have to put a performance in and get 3 points. I think that we will. Does anyone know if Dan Neil was injured last night as he seemed to slow right up after that tackle where their lad got a yellow card. I don't want to contemplate our midfield on Saturday if he's not fit. We need to get busy. Anyway as they say " things can only get better"
Like you I've slept on it because I was very annoyed with that after driving back. You sum things up pretty well a very lethargic performance. No battles won anywhere on the pitch all night. I also agree with you about ambling over to take corners same 1st half 1 minute of added time and we stroll across to take it no urgency at all same at the end with Clarke. A very poor night all round. On we go to Birmingham but we will have to play an awful lot better than that to get anything.
Fair enough. All about opinion. I saw him closwd down with players to pass to 4 or 5 times in the first half, then try to beat a man and give it away instead of playing the pass. When he has 3 marking him, he needs to find that pass quickly.
Evidently, that all depends on who you fall out with. Exile was called a child molester by the bloke he was always arguing with and that was conveniently missed by the mod of that posters mate. He never said anything remotely like that back to that poster and he has received a life ban from the board.
Just a further point am I the only one who thought Patterson should have done better with the goal. The pitch was greasy but if you don't collect the shot you have to push it wide of the goal not back out in front of you.
To assist in that it would be good to see a couple of players show for the pass. There has to be space. Clarke has done his part by attracting 3 opposition players, there must be space for someone.
