I'd be bike packing if I brought the bike. So it would be loaded up with Tent, sleeping bag, mat, clothes, cooking equipment etc. So I won't be blasting down any hair raising downhill trails. But if there's a way to traverse a big loop on a bike with a couple of nights camping, that would be awesome. Even if we didn't hit the peaks, I'm sure there must be some decent routes to pick out up there. The charity walk sounds awesome. 9 x 4k + peaks sounds like quite a challenge. I'm climbing half dome in Yosemite in September. So we should get the lads on here to chip in with a few of their hard earned pennies to spur us on
Plenty of routes definitely but from the peaks I've walked you wouldn't get too high on a bike as there's not much in the way of decent tracks past say 400 mtrs, there must be some trails you could find as there must be something around.
I've just googled , mountain biking the munro's, and there's plenty of stuff on there, one bloke is on a mission to do all 282 of them, so there must be a way. Good luck with it mate
Looks awesome @Gessa Love the idea of staying in some Bothys too Think I'd spend a little longer than 2 days doing this 180 mile loop though
They're usually very damp, great for a lunch stop from the elements but not great sleep overs, Usually a decent supply of wood for a fire though.
Sounds good to me. Sleeping mat, sleeping bag and a roaring fire sounds perfect. I do like my tent though, it's proper cozy in there.
A good morning and Happy Valentine’s to anyone rushing to Tesco for flowers or just ignoring it entirely.
Got the Mrs a Pug yesterday as a pre valentines surprise. Despite the squashed nose, bulging eyes and rolls of fat….the dog seems to like her
Been for a nice walk with the missus today, then a bite to eat at a woodland cafe. Found this crazy twisted beech tree Then managed to jump in for an hour for a misty surf before it got dark. Happy days
**** day Mrs luv been struggling with a chest issues for a while now seemed like a virus I had it as well and it hung around for about 3 weeks but she's been admitted to hospital today. Seems okay at the moment and on an IV with antibiotics. Worrying though.
