We had it in the Premier League under Steve Bruce. We had a team full of talent and still people sat around me in E6/E5 at the time were shouting at the top of their voices for Brucies head. Remember one idiot running to the front of the East Stand and call Huddleston across before kick off to shout in his face 'You're 5hite Huddleston'. Everton have fan unity at a level we can only dream of, and I'm no Everton fan. We have always had this 'why don't they sing' arguement going back to Boothferry Park days. I remember away games when we had a hundred fans there and 80 of them would sit in the seats and not murmour a word of support all game, whilst 20 of us behind the goal shouted ourselves hoarse, long time ago, I know, but nevertheless true. Getting off the train at Paragon after the win over Bristol City at Wembley that promoted us to the PL for the first time in our history my little party ( all family) made our way to Tigers Lair thinking it would be bouncing. It was like a morgue, but we sat down regardless with our drinks and one fella toddled across from the bar and said to me 'You were lucky today'. That's Hull for you. Look at some of the comments on Hull Live regarding City every day of the week. All the fans sites have imposters and haters posting 5hite 24/7. The curse of social media. And this in a city were we don't have another football club to compete with playing from our city. Personally,as an old 'un who has stood behind goals all over the country following this club I think the fans we have in the North Stand today are doing alright and our away support in numbers and vocally is the best i have ever known it. Also the atmosphere at home isn't as library like as some of the haters posting on social media would have you think. We are improving on and off the field slowly but it is an improvment. This could still finish up as one of the most memorable seasons in the clubs history, so be a positive part of it. UTT.
Crazy atmosphere at times last night. “Reet goal that” . as one despondent local shouted.. Football..f’kin ace innit. Forza CITY.
Still trending on U.K 'X' Twitter - since last night and it's verily near dinner time the following day & not a single Jonny Turk tweet in amongst the content - Amazebul
Good, balanced post. TBH, I'm a bit surprised with all the glowing comments about our performance last night. I didn't think it was that good. 1st half we were mostly poor .... hence the fans singing '"Liam Liam sort it out .....". We could easily have gone 2 down, but thanks to a decent save by Allsop we didn't. Yes, their keeper also made a couple of decent saves. First half, like we've seen too often, we were once again getting out muscled, out worked by (bottom of the table) Rotherham. 2nd half was better. Some say they tired, others say tactical changes helped. Who knows. Once more a piece of individual brilliance came to our rescue. And then we finally saw a well worked team goal. Overall it was hardly impressive against the team at the bottom of the table; yes, I know they are fighting for their lives but truth is it could easily have been quite a different story had Philogene's brilliance and slice of luck not happened on 71 minutes.. Maybe, hopefully we will see steady improvement each game as the latest new players settle in. TWT. For me it was concerning how for at least the first half we seemed weaker, slower, etc than the opposition yet again, and this was an opposition who are well adrift at the bottom. Not sure we can think of Swansea as a distant memory, especially when it was on the back of other poor performances. But a win and another step up in performance v's Huddersfield will rekindle the hope. Just bringing some realism, rather than getting carried away following a slender hard fought 1-2 win against the bottom club which could easily have turned out differently (but thankfully didn't).
Some gave him a ridiculous slating on here. It was bizarre. A couple of us commented on how ridiculous those comments were.
Philogene’s goal has gone viral. There’s even a kid on TikTok who tries to replicate great goals on FIFA and he did Philogene’s. https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGeSYkseA/
I don't think critiquing a player but hoping/expecting them to improve is that controversial, and most comments I saw were to that effect. A few have claimed people 'slated' him but I've yet to see a post that did that.
I think by the time he releases the ball there's a good chance the defender intercepts, I would lean towards a really good instinctive decision rather than an act of selfishness.
Sky just showed the best goals from the EFL last night. Some absolute belters. Jadens not amongst them. WTF
