The rest of Europe didn't commit the horrendous act of self harm that was Brexit. From Austerity to Brexit to Trussonomics, this whole period has been utterly disastrous for ordinary people, while the Tories' already rich mates and donors have prospered. All this accompanied by epic levels dishonesty and corruption.

Brexit? How is it then, that Germany is in recession, and the UK is not?

If you put two economists in a room, you'll get three opinions back. To show that Brexit was the disaster you claim, you'd have to show that the UK economy had faltered and the EU member states were powering ahead. Nothing could be further from the truth, and in the midst of voter dissatisfaction in Continental Europe, the march of the Far Right continues

It could be worse. We could have Trump or Biden as our choice

How is our current government different to the far-right parties in Europe? Reminding you of your 'third world imports' comment from earlier.

The UK government is socially liberal. Gay marriage, running down the police force, crime out of control, massive legal migration, liberal religious laws (compare France that bans face veils and insists on secular schools), huge payments during lockdown all speak to this. Rwanda is the only policy that I can think of that is remotely to the right (and not right enough, we need to leave the ECHR to fight illegal immigration).

The right wing governments in the EU are relatively new, so haven't shown their hand, Hungary is an exception which effectively ban Islamic immigration. Right wing governments are Switzerland, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Finland,Sweden, Serbia. Those countries moving to the right are Germany (AfD), France (Le Pen) and Netherlands (de Wilders).

Sunak seemed pretty happy when chatting to Meloni.

How do the current government views differ to Le Pen's?

The ringleader of a 80 strong hate mob outside a Tory MP's family home yesterday was a Labour candidate in 2019. Labour's comment? We aren't all saints in the Labour Party.

    Shameful

How about doing your own research, and let me know your conclusions?

Le Pen's views are pretty much identical to the Tories'. Only difference is she wants out of NATO and thinks leaving the EU is a bad idea.

She's not far off Trump on NATO, and pro Russia. She'd be tough on social issues especially immigration related. Despite secular policies, France are in more than a mess than we are with Islamic extremism.
