Was a strange old game last night. We were poor for large periods and yet to let in a 94th minute equaliser was a real gut punch. Hurtado definitely upped the ante and we looked much better going forwards once he was on. The change of shape proved to be largely more beneficial as large gaps were left in the first half between Hutton & Masterson. The latter of which could have had a hat-trick last night on a different night. Some players also didn't look as good as usual, Coleman definitely fell into that category for me and I'm a big fan of his and Walker was rather ineffectual. 1. Hurtado - Amazing dazy run to with the penalty and was a real positive each time he had the ball. 2. Clark - Very good ball in to assist Hawkins and was hardly beaten down his side during the match. 3. J. Williams - Definitely wanted to get the ball on the front foot and linked up well with Max Clark
Its funny how people can watch the same game and see such different things, I thought the gaps in the first half were between Clark and Ogie who never appeared to be on the same wavelength! Totally agree on Hurtado, Walker and Coleman who had as a poor a game as I can remember him having. 1. Hurtado 2. Ehmer 3. Mahoney
The ball was comfortably over the line https://www.skysports.com/football/...ingham-2-2-swindon-town-league-two-highlights
Overall, the result was 'fair' - but frustrating for a number of reasons - other than the want of a Russian linesman! 1. Hurtado - for the impact that he made. 2. Ogie - for the incredible intervention when 0-2 looked certain 3. Ehmer - for a brilliant goal-line save Although we nearly allowed Swindon to be 'out-of-sight' before half time, it was pleasing that Clemence eventually recognised the need to change things - and Gills then played some good stuff - which could have seen a more deserved result than just a draw..... at least it was entertaining (( as was my antics towards the officials - but - by then I had been properly 'warmed up' in the kebab shop ! ))
I've only just seen this on twitter from a completely different angle, I don't believe the whole ball crossed the line, but I hasten to add I've not been back to Specsavers for at least 3 years, so another visit is probably well overdue.
brb - I will concede the difficulty in decision-making for the ref...(( see my post in the VAR thread)) The view angle, from behind the goal gives the impression that not all of the ball has crossed the line - but -any view from that angle, would need the ball to be considerably further into the goal - to afford a clear sight of the goal line.....From my angle in the GRS, ( as per the SKY footage ), the ball 'looks' to have cleared the line....where is VAR when you need it?
Don't want VAR, but yeah I agree and am happy to have goal line technology, which just sends a simple signal to the refs watch that the ball crossed the line. One piece of technology I have no argument with.
What an enjoyable if frustrating game I thought we were lucky not to 3 or 4 down at half time but it could easily have been 5 all in the end and thought a draw was a fair result. 1, Hurrtado a real bundle of energy who will scare the life out of league 2 defenders although I am not sure his match fitness will allow 90 minutes yet. 2, Max Clark his delivery was good and looked reasonably assured defensively. 3, Williams worked hard wanted the ball. I don't think J walker is good enough the sooner Andrews is fit the better. I think Turner is lacking confidence and seems to be in a constant argument with the defenders.
I was sat in the Medway Upper Tier and was directly in line with the goal line and am certain that the ball dropped on the line, and as a result, wasn't a goal. The referee as far as I'm concerned made the right call and in all honesty, Masterson should have done much better with the header to hit the target.
Hurtado Hurtado and Hurtado Could do with another couple of his class, looks like he is starting to shine UTGGGGGGGILLLLLLSSSSSSS Im feeling posative at last
I love it when a good result brings some togetherness on the forum. Anyway... 1. Hurtado 2. J Williams 3. M Clarke Let's hope for more of the same tomorrow.
