Should have kept Hernadez on, he could of carried on looking threatening and not delivering for the rest of the game.
We moved the Leeds game forward to accommodate the Liverpool cup game on the Sunday. Others didn't and postponed instead.
Hull, Coventry and Sunderland could go ahead of us if they win. Preston would be level on points with us. Still very close, having points on the board is good though.
Wagner told the fans that boo when he makes questionable subs to stay home . Attacking your paying customers rarely ends well & it was probably a response to the negative QPR subs Saturday & many other strange decisions. We can't sit on a lead that is very clear so parking the bus usually ends in defeat. I personally found it odd that Sargent wasn't replaced by Van Hooijdonk Saturday & Rowe has been hooked early on in many games & Kenny has played every minute of every Championship game . Pretty daft to boo when the team is 2-1 up but Wagner has blown lots of winning positions through trying to game manage a slender lead . 9 games undefeated at home is good & he is getting results but every game is uncomfortable to watch. Webber dug his own grave attacking his customers , Delia pissed off many recently with dumb comments you would think someone from the media department would tell them not to do it.
Wagner did also go on to say that both Sargent and Hernandez were injured at half time but it was decided to see how they would get on at the start of the second half, we can’t afford for them to be injured long term, especially with Rowe now out for a prolonged period. Whilst I understand the sentiment after the subs appeared to lose us the lead at QPR, we as fans also have to understand that we don’t know the condition of the players or the plans.
I wouldn't have booed it's counter productive but Wagner was silly to bite, it's like reading Trip advisor revues when paying customers weren't happy with the service or food which is their prerogative. Then the manager responds telling then they don't know what they are talking about & the food & service is always excellent. A few months ago when we went on a dreadful run of 9 games without a win many fans did exactly that & didn't bother turning up which was also criticised . All Wagner has done is set himself up for a pointless fight with a certain section of fans , Dean Smith said he was glad the next game was away so he didn't have to listen to disgruntled fans & sealed his own fate . I am one of the more positive fans on here but I'm not going to pretend last nights performance was very good , it seemed as if the players won despite the tactics rather than Wagner's input.
