Thankfully Mrs Brizzle was also working late last night so I was able to cry into my cocoa whilst watching us struggle to get back on terms with WBA rather than have to suffer a smug missus gloating about ending Saints unbeaten run and being above us .. Though she did if course take the opportunity to rub it in a little when she got home...
Kiefer Moore, a chance meeting in a leading gym with our representatives Blue From Bridgend (wherever that is), sealed the fate of his move to Cardiff City. Another goal to his tally in the Championship, typical of his worth to his chosen team. Can’t believe that we had doubters about what he would do for us, shame! I refuse to blame BFB for his part in all this as Dylan said “a simple twist of fate!” . You’ll hear no more from Masky on this subject! Masky
I hope so (of course). Banter aside, we tend to do better when we are underdogs. Our next 2 games are QPR and Sheffield Wednesday - both in the bottom 3 - we traditionally struggle against sides fighting for their lives. And then, of course, we have our own little clash - with all the random unpredictability of a local derby!!!!
Funnily enough I was speaking with a work colleague who is a regular down at the Gate a few weeks back. He was saying that when teams want to play open, 'decent' football against you guys then you look pretty good but teams that come to shut up shop, play dour counter attacking football and just generally keep it tight then you really struggle. On that basis I'm fully expecting you to struggle against us!! (In all honesty I'm expecting you to beat us, unless we suddenly do find some of our earlier season form again).
Another fixture timing switch - jacks game live on Sky..................... https://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/news/fixture-alteration-swansea-city-vs-cardiff-city
Your work colleague is right (with a couple of exceptions - Leeds for example - we got played off the park). If a team parks the bus against us we can’t seem to be able to break them down. It’s an old problem - transcending different managers and players.
TBF at the moment we can't seem to break down ANY defence right now..... I'd be concerned about us scoring against an under 8's side presently... Even when we do create chances we can't finish them off. You guys will definitely have the edge over us. You've made a couple of really decent signings in the window and have had time to bed them in. Our newbies are still settling in. My only hope for our game against you is that big Fammy will be well up for it and in one of his 'unplayable' moods rather than his more static, let things bounce off him days!!
TBF you called it!! The way we're playing mind we'll need the points to avoid being sucked well and truly into the relegation mix....
I see there’s a couple of games tonight. Coventry looking to enhance their top 6 prospects & will probably nick it in the 99th minute Plus the clash of the top two who look favourites to bounce straight back without the lottery of the play offs
