I've just got me pass out sorted, messaged the lads to arrange the pub. Hhhaaawwwwaaaaayyyyyyy the lads
Aye it’s very comfy. Beer in the fridge too… we’re doing our meal at the weekend. Out in Newcastle on Saturday to see Bill Bailey, so going fir a meal beforehand
Class. Mrs just said we will have to do something Friday instead then, left a long pause expected me to jump in. Fine by me
As long as you’re as healthy as can be I’m sure that’s the best present for your loved ones Are you still into your horse racing? I’ve got a share in a horse that we are expecting big things from now. She’s a 2 year old filly and we are looking at putting her out on the racecourse for the first time towards the end of the year. I’m really sweet on her, she’s such a darling
That is true, all she is bothered about is me, kids and grandkids. Yeah, love my racing still. Going for the first 2 days at Cheltenham in 4 weeks and the July meeting at Newmarket. I have a share in 2 horses via the Owners Group - Yeoman trained by Fanshawe and Swift King trained by Nicholls. The latter won first time up and may run in the Triumph at Cheltenham but I think they want another run/win before to justify the entry (was due to run at Ludlow last Friday but was withdrawn after the going changed to very soft). Good luck with your horse, it is a thrill when they run and even more so when they win. Who is she trained by? If it is close to you do you get chance to see her at the stables? I have been to Michael Dods stables a couple of times and it is brilliant to see everything that goes on and the staff are fantastic.
I can see her now, still waiting!!! Pretty sure, even though it’s unspoken, mine knows she’s second to SAFC!!
True story. One of me old mates was a brewery rep for S&N. A big Sunderland fan, he always got the Newcastle Breweries box at Roker Park. When it was his turn for the St James box he would always do a swap with one of the mag reps....so only ever went in the Roker Park box. Loved his job, and was always on the lash because of it. Spent a lot of time out, always in an S&N pub "socialising" with the landlords. Him and his then girlfriend were having a bit of a rough patch, and one night we were in the Cherry Tree in Washington it came to a bit of a head. She came in, having a right go at him....said "you think more of Newcastle Breweries than you do of me". His reply has stuck with me ever since...... "I think more of Newcastle United than I do of you". She was a bit of a dragon tbf.
Sounds promising mate. Good luck with them and enjoy Cheltenham! It’s the dream to see them run at the big meetings, hope it comes off for you. She’s being trained at Newmarket by Mr Haggis. He’s delighted to have her there. Her father is Australia, the Derby and Irish Derby winner. Her Grandfather is Galileo the Derby and Irish Derby winner. She’s also related to Ouija Board who won the Oaks and is a half sister to Broome who has been running in Meydan and Im sure I’ve seen him at the Breeders cup a couple of times. Cost a lot of money for a horse that hadn’t even been broke when we got her but the pedigree is really stand out. I personally want to get her abroad. That’s the dream for me. She’s coming along great. This is her and her rider, Freddie. I’m caring for someone 24/7 but that’s coming to the last days and weeks unfortunately but once it does come to an end my first port of call will be the stables. A couple of the lads have been down and loved it.
Thanks and yeah that would be a dream, so at my age they had better get a move on He is one of my favourite trainers (and his late father in law wasn't a bad Jockey either ) Wow, that is incredible breeding lines - stamina laden so will be seen to her best at 1.25 - 1.5 miles I would imagine. Good luck with her but with that breeding she should have a head start
