Interesting debate and poll going on , on waccoe. You only have one choice, we win the cup or get promoted. Forget the thoughts that we've no chance of winning the cup. Personally I'm going for a cup win, been a long time since we won a major troph, 32 years, be nice to get another.
FA Cup all day long. Create some history and make memories that will never be forgotten. Promotion is great don't get me wrong and we definitely need it for the long term future of the club but it doesn't beat winning the oldest cup compettion in the world.
Also and others may think differently but when we lifted the trophy as Championship winners under Bielsa it didn't really feel like winning a trophy as it was promotion that was the prize.
Promotion for me.... These cup runs are a side show and a distraction to what should be our main aim and that is promotion and then consolidations of our position in the Premier League. There's the long time financial outlook to think of. IF we play the league right then we could do a Brighton or Brentford and be a surprising mainstay in the top 10 of that division.
I said this a few days ago but... In years gone by there was a magic to the FA Cup but it's gone now. When I was younger it was a more level playing field and if you hit the right draw you could get a final but since the Yanks and the Arabs took over with their money it's usually the big six winning the prize.
But you seem to think the squad is inadequate and Farke is a pile of ****e and with him at the helm we'll come straight back down, if we get up, so why not enjoy a cup win
With the right additions to the squad I could be proven wrong and we could make a decent effort out the league but that's down to the recruitment team and Farke to work out who that is. As for Farke that's for him to prove me wrong.
That will be seen if we DO get promoted and he can keep us out of the bottom 3 of the Prem. Granted I'll admit we'll get promoted but not this season. We'll do it next season it's beyond that when the test begins
Yep get that and it makes sound financial sense. In my mind nothing could eclipse the memories of the winning the league title in 1992 and then celebrating long into the next morning. However actually winning a major trophy again would be something very very special.
