    Not out last week Twice. Retired then came back to bat & carried it to the end. Not my sport but I tell ya, dam proud of the little fella. Sorry.

    Bates said he would drive him back to Sunderland personally .He was forever late for training and put the minimum of effort into his game .He will improve when it gets to getting a new contract

    Let's be fair to the lad - McCartney did have some excellent spells with us. To me he actually looked excellent as a centre back in a few games i went to see (can't remember as it must have been around 5 years ago). Maybe moving to centre back is an option for him as I reckon his legs are shot after the injuries that he has had. He's retired from Northern Ireland so his workload is less - I wonder if that was down to injuries.
