If you could lay your hands on one! Bad enough now. I had actually planned to go to all away games when I retired. Then I tried to get tickets!
There are players on 4 figures a week at non-league but those squads are filled with players on much less and a fair few on semi pro contracts. The difference in skill between a league 2 player and a low level PL player is minimal yet the wages are ridiculously different. The budgets are much lower. League 2 clubs get 500k a season tv money. Premier league clubs get well over £100 million. The gap is too big
The actual skill might not be that different, but the PL player will be much quicker and physically as an athlete way superior.
They are better athletes typically - the player I know has played in PL, Championship and League 1 and Says main difference is attitude and professionalism - which in itself increases those natural advantages. No room in top flight football for the guys who have a *** at half time any more
He probably is. If he can celebrate ‘winning’ a trophy he played 5 minutes in then anything is possible
Correct me if I'm wrong but don't most elite footballers say it's easier to play in the PL than it is in L1 or lower ?
Has anyone seen conclusive evidence that Bamford's goal yesterday was handball ? Looks to me like it might have come off his upper arm, which is legal these days, but I'd like to see it from behind the goal.
Bamford showed the referee where it hit him which was above above the t-shirt sleeve line and he wouldn't lie would he
For those interested Darko Gyabi played the full 90 mins again for Plymouth in their 3-1 defeat at Sunderland. Plymouth play Coventry home on Wednesday before we head down there again for the lunchtime KO on Saturday.
