When I opened this link I saw the report from Bristol Live and the comments in there were just about spot on. I look around the top 2 divisions and see many foreign managers who seem to have a better understanding of how the game should be played and Farke is one of those who brings excitement to the game. Brentford manager Frank has surprised the whole league by what he has achieved at small market team financed by crowds of below 20K and I scream when we follow the same old track to nowhere by playing inconsistent football with below par players. What will it take to wake the Lansdowns up to the facts that we have a great following and we play the game in a well upgraded stadium but have this apathetic approach to using those positives to our advantage. The perils of the FFP mob are quite scary but the teams that get given gobs of money for failing to stay in the Prem are always going to have a massive advantage when it comes down to transfers and wages. As far as I'm concerned I think that the Championship is the most competitive second tier of football anywhere in the world and to give 20-30% of the clubs competing extra monies to keep them technically safe whilst the mere mortals like Bristol City have to struggle to find a way to be able to keep up their challenge. I fully understand the reticence of the Lansdowns in keeping a tight rein on the finances but surely the other teams that have succeeded where we failed are proof positive that it can be done and yet we continue to take a different route that over the years has got us absolutely nothing. I would have thought that a successful businessman would at least have a handle on what it takes to bring a better way of doing things based on his day job but apparently he must have other ideas that don't fit well with the supporters. The worst thing of all of the bad things that have happened down in BS3 is the total lack of communication and following on from the statement of a couple of years ago that more openness would be the order of the day here we are again being treated like mushrooms sitting in the dark covered in excrement. Shameful way to treat us and the folks who line up at every home waiting to see the promised land, and the wonderful bunch who travel in droves for away games in all weathers deserve way better than the constant garbage served up for their pleasure. Honesty is a good trait sadly missing from BCFC.
Bristol City set to secure new contract agreement with 2023 signing https://the72.co.uk/2024/02/06/bristol-city-set-to-secure-new-contract-agreement-with-2023-signing/
cannot understand why with this-Bajic is second-wiles is third-and this guy 4th how many keepers- get rid of three and get a decent one in who will give Max a run for the jersey.
Unless we think one of the young ones is good and bringing in one to challenge Max will block his pathway
Bajic does not get game time or even a shout. Wiles never had a game. if they were decent would have had game time by now.
Have to agree with RR. Think Wiles Richards maybe injured but you would have expected Bajic to make his mark by now if he was going to

Some will say we haven’t progressed under LM. Personally, I think we are miles better, even if the points on the board and league position don’t fully back that up yet! We have a young progressive coach who isn’t afraid to try things and our defending from the front has been much much better. A few more goals per game and we will be that top 10, maybe even top 6 side the board feel we should be. I’m also sure, we wouldn’t be that under Nige and his tactics, who knows, maybe the board were right…. Time will tell.
It’s all academic, we’ll never know how we would have done had we not changed, best to move on. Before the change I expected a top 10 finish and would have criticised the previous regime had we not achieved it, as the whole point of the change was to improve our chances THIS season then to expect at the very least a top 10 is a more than fair expectation. That’s what I shall be judging the present administration, any less will be a failure imo
SPOT ON we certainly are not better at the moment than we might have been??? I think we are about 6 points adrift of where Nige might have got us? .. However I think the bonus is in the cup run he may not have got us through that!
