Been sub-zero temperatures in central Cheshire for days now.
A right pain, water pipes at the small holding frozen, yard like a skating rink. Because of the blocks on the tyres, there's very little 'rubber on the road' with the tractor. It's like bambi on ice. 4 tonnes drifting.
On the up side, might be able to get a fallen tree out of one of the fields as the ground is rock hard.
Can't go fishing as our club lake is frozen solid.

Here last night it was -6. Tonight it will be -7.
The sad thing is that it won't effect me in the slightest. <laugh>

Just finished watching the latest Jack Reacher series on Prime with Mrs Remote.
Watched all 8 episodes in the last 27 hours.

    I've read all the books.

Entertaining enough and relatively true to the book it was based on.
At least in the series they don't have a short ar$e like Tom Cruise playing the 6'5" behemoth that Lee Childs writes about.

I've read all the books as well. Always a good read.

I enjoyed the Cruise Reacher films but it always got me that Reacher is a man mountain at 6ft 5ins.

Simply put, Cruise isn't. In another films he has had to stand on a box to be above the leading ladies in close up scenes. <doh>

The really sad thing is that our Tommy owns the film rights as I understand it.

Lambing season can be any time.
The landlady at the B&B I stay at in Scotland starts lambing her pedigree Berichon between Christmas and New Year. She's targeting the early shows.

We've started in January in previous years, but start in March now. It means there's grass growing when we turn them back out.
It's a double edged sword. Lamb early, get the best price at market but need to pay for feed. Lamb later, not as good a price, but save on feed.

We'll get ours in at the beginning of March, though will bring the one having quads in earlier. Feed her up and keep an eye on her, snug in the shed.

Very interesting indeed!! And as an aside, the cranes are back heading East. Couldn't believe it when I first heard them coz it was bloody cold. But evidently Spring is underway.

    Me too.

Makes a refreshing change from commenting on Ugbo, the donkey.

The Bewick Swans that winter at Slimbridge here in Glossersher are heading back up north earlier this year. There were considerably less visiting this winter.
And the Curlews are back in the field outside my friends place near Wick in Scotland where spring is usually a fortnight behind England and Wales.

We haven't got any donkeys. A few horses but no donkeys.

This morning was putting a new 7 pin plug for connecting to the car for the lights on the horse trailer. It got run over. I replaced one on the sheep trailer a week ago. It had also been run over.<doh>

When it's not animals, there's always something needs fixing.

Well stop leaving your plugs where they can be run over.
