Job done. Great to give some players a rest and some game time but we weren't as good after the substitutions. Hopefully the few minutes some of them got will help if we need them. I have a feeling that Joseph will be a superstar once he settles down.
Meslier - 7. Couple of half decent saves but overall not much to do. Heart attack stuff when a back pass rolled under his foot. Gray - 8. Good link up with Gnonto. Solid in defence, good support in attack. Rodon - 9. Rotherham tried to do him a couple of times but he still dominated everything. Sign him up. Ampadu - 9. A really solid partnership with Rodon has formed. He seems to play a more supporting role but is equally as important as the impressive Rodon. Firpo - 8. Perfect game for him. Very little defensive work to do and had a hand in the first two goals. Gruev - 9. Becoming a key player in this team. Another near perfect anchoring performance. Kamara - 7. Quietly went about that left hand channel keeping the ball moving and giving passing options. Neat and tidy but I feel he could be a bit more proactive when carrying the ball. Rutter - 9. Man of the match. Found those spaces really well and made a big impact on our attacks. Wish he'd score more. Summerville - 9. Still has that extra touch but his pace and ball control matched with his defensive work makes him the best wide player in the division. Gnonto - 8. Gaining in confidence and looking like the Gnonto of last season. Rat. Bamford - 8. Maradonaesque handball and a willing runner all game. Hold up play decent too. Subs. Piroe - 6. With the team playing like this and him not really grabbing games in sub appearances, it looks unlikely that he'll be starting any time soon. Byram - 6. Better defensively than Firpo but this wasn't really the game to showcase defensive talent. Joseph - 6. Worked hard but little else. Roberts - 6. Debut. Did fine. Cresswell - n/a. Nice touch to bring him on and reintegrate him back in to the fray.
I was realy enjoying the catch up on this thread, good win again but fkn Southampton like a fkn dog with a bone, they just will not give up
