Wow, what a game. Respect to Huddersfield for being so good but what a recovery by the Saints. Chuffed to bits, especially with my new Leeds fan neighbour arriving on Tuesday.
Really important morale boosting win. Never had as much control over the game as usually did but definitely a valuable three points and showed character. Hope Downes is not injured too seriously and can return soon.
What a game! Though note to Saints…winning 2-0 would have been ok. My son went to this game…better check he is still alive.
Full marks to the team squad today and especially Russell Martin. There will be the inquest obviously about the first half, but credit where credit due. He called the changes and did they work!!
Feel for Huddersfield fans (though not enough to be willing to give them even a point)….they met a top performing side and gave them a fright. Hope they get some joy in future games
Being a tired defender and having Mara, Sulemana and Brooks bearing down on you is "complain to your union steward" stuff. Surely it's against some regulation or another. Bit of a luxury to be able to swap in five attacking players who'd start for most sides at this level.
