The last good rule, as Milk said, was the back pass rule. Giving the referee even more decisions to make isn't going to work especially when they aren't adept at getting the current ones right.
the mistake of var was to edit the rules to accommodate var checks. offside has been messed with massively. handball has been ridiculously inconsistently death with. I agree that sin bins are an utter change to the rules that should have a far more fundamental effect on the game. it's not quite at the level of change that the back pass rule was but it will have an effect. in theory if everyone is a good boy then this is no impact at all
Think everyone getting a bit carried away with this blue card stuff it is just to be trialled in lesser leagues to test its use in real life .
Completely changes the rule regulations too. There's already arguments about what constitutes a yellow or red, there's arguments about what's just a foul and worthy of a booking. Adding another tier just complicates it further. Or are they saying two yellows means blue and two blues mean red? That would be even worse, means players can make four bad fouls before being sent off! I wasn't keen on VAR but I'm open to change and was willing to see what happened. I'm 100% against this idea, it's ridiculous.
100%. Only thing to find to cover close is goal line technology (that one actually works) but that's not changing the rules
No, two yellows still equal a red in the suggested rules. Two blues also equal a red. As does a yellow and a blue. Blue is essentially just a yellow with a bunch of exclamation points after it.
It’s ridiculous until the ref standard is improved. we have had games in the past weeks where players in the same match have made shows of dissent and been let off and carded by the same ref just gives them another means to spoil the game
man city to sue the premier league to stop any rules stopping them doping with fake sponsorships. hammer them out of existence.
When their players were dancing around singing about one of our fans being beat up in the street, it finished any leeway I may have given them.
It is all still talk atm and may never happen but it's a good exercise going over all the potential pitfalls of a new carding system. Will they consider what impact it may have on injuries with players going off for 10 minutes, cooling down and then coming back on cold?
to be fair could be either city newcatsle or Chelsea. All 3 are sponsored by their owners. But you’re prob right, city already fee aggrieved so prob fee have nothing to lose
3 points for a win was a positive move, encourages more attacking football ..................agree on the back pass change.
Again, that's the players, not the club. Players, managers, coaches, owners, etc come and go but the actual club and it's fans are forever.
Yeh I get that but the players form part of the club's identity. While I agree that the fans are forever, what else determines what a club is other than the players who represent it. Look how our identity has hardly changed over the years which to a large degree is determined by the players who who have come and bought into what the club is all about. It's part of the reason that Klopp is so well loved because he embodies what it means to be Liverpool football club and harks back so well to Shankly with exactly the same values. I couldn't say what city's identity is because it isn't clear but it's a world away from the city of decades past. The fans don't even come out for the parades in any numbers now.
2min sin bin these days. Technically you can get as many greens as you want, as long as they're for different things. Keep doing the same thing that'll lead to a Yellow (5-15min sin bin)
