Good news is RedBull might be reduced to one of the runners and riders Bad news Horners wife might have to reform the Spice Girls to maintain her lifestyle
I also wondered if Lewis had wind of this issue and may have had some insight to Adrian's intentions. It was a snap decision by Lewis. That said, I am unconvinced Horner will be gone although the Jos/Marko angle is interesting. If that came about any second driver would be under orders never to get in Max's way. I hadn't appreciated the Thai connection that Red Bull had, which puts Alex in the frame again. Hearing Alex is in no hurry to move makes me think he is on a promise. Marko was keen to keep him before he went to Williams.
Or Lewis has been told Newey is going to Ferrari so Lewis jumps ship , only to find out that Newey had no intention of. Joining Ferrari ?
I'm very sure that Hamilton didn't make a snap decision at all but used his clause at the right time. I'm also very sure that Hamilton didn't know newey was going to ferrari either as a 39 year old hasn't the time to wait for newey to reengineer that ferrari over 3 or 3 years. #realitycheck Hamilton is really old. this is a swansong ambition box tick. nothing more. I sincerely doubt he feels merc will be competitive this season or next
Interesting article about Horner in the Times today. Suggests it is all about Horners aggressive behaviour while also playing the victim. This, the article says he displayed many times, quoting the influence he had on Masi in the 2021 final race debacle, the budget cap rule break, the controlling reaction towards Sky. Maybe, the owners of the brand are dismayed, maybe Max/Jos are dismayed. Few of the F1 fans like Horner but then he has been entertaining for the wrong reasons. A leopard can not change its spots, lets see what happens. Out of favour he may be, if the article is to be a reflection of the RB board mood. May even be (my speculation) that this employee was encouraged to make their complaint direct to RB by someone wanting him ousted. If so, I would speculate that Marko may have taken the original complaint and booted it upstairs. Horner could be toast after all.
nothing better than someone ****ing up to the point where all fear vanishes and all their prior bad behaviour resurfaces. kind of like when a president if leaving office for 2nd time in the US or when ferguson left man utd. Once the fear goes the sharks in the media go into piranha level feeding frenzy and will publish everything
Yep, you can imagine what the media will say if he is ousted. It will dominate discussion all season. If RBR are successful it will be one set of arguments, if they are less so it will be another. Either way, his ghost would haunt the corridors for some time after.
I feel like a Jos/Helmut power grab would be out of the pan and in to the incinerator for RBR. Imagine the culture with those two at the top.
I must admit I have thought for quite a while ( esp since Dieter Mateschitz passed away ) That if one of them were to go , it would be the Helmet , given the things he said about Perez for example . Then I remind myself about Horners behaviour towards Renault ( Specifically Cyril Abiteboule ) and I think F**K Him . so . If Horner is guilty , we don’t know the real charges yet , then he should be punished accordingly . However I think someone has tried to set him up , if that’s true , then whoever is responsible should be sacked . On the other Hand I could wake up in the shower , and it will all have been a dream
It seems that any conclusion to this isn't likely to be in the immediate future, which I guess will fuel more theories and speculation. Who knows though, maybe it will be today The car launch is going to be a little awkward though.
None of us know the issue or the mood of each side. To have been kicked upstairs, in manner of speech. First and foremost, does one want to break a winning formula? If it were a one off, I don't think it would have got this serious, unless it were a more sensitive personal issue, which I doubt it is, unless there was a flippant remark. I still think it will be a caution and some kind of settlement for the employee. However, my one question that I doubt will ever be answered, is does Lewis know what happened, talks to the employee concerned, hence his sudden decision in second guessing the outcome. Fun to speculate but probably will be a non starter, BAU.
I get the feeling he's hurt someones feelings by shouting at them, and it's being used as political leverage. When you're in professional sport, you get shouted at, well everyone in the sports I took part in did. "You're ****ing useless, the lot of you!!"
If the media is to be believed he was in the meeting for 8 hours. Long time. If true there must be more than one person behind this, i.e. one complaint supported by another senior member, or two, of the team. Reams of papers with.... "Don't argue with me, I want answers on my desk by 9 am even if you have to work all night" "Where are the answers? What do you mean you didn't work all night? You think this is a holiday camp? Are you stupid or something? Who the **** did this? Did they not teach you at school you cretin?" Perhaps Horner should meet with Alan Sugar for some lessons. Of course, just speculation on my part.
this week we get to see all of the other mainly black team liveries. it won't be long now til testing
