What are peoples thoughts? If implemented well it could be a good thing but could also see it ruining games. Understand for cynical yellows like those breaking up a counter attack but past that can't see many uses for them. Will diving be considered a cynical booking? Thought they were banning players who tried and succeeded in fooling officials. https://www.skysports.com/football/video/33727/13066945/how-will-blue-cards-impact-football
For God's sake stop this idea.... sin bins The worst thing that has ever happened to football is American interest.
It will soon be 2 points for a goal scored inside the area and 3 points for goals scored outside the area. You can swap your offence and defence players at every corner and free kick. The game will be split into 4 quarters. And the Superbowl Cup Final will be Newcastle Magpies against the Liverpool Dippers.
If i could bring in a new rule i'd scrap penalties tbh, i feel like the punishment outweighs the offence, especially in such a low scoring sport. People can dive or go down from the slightest touch and that often decides a game because it's basically a goal, just give a free kick inside the box.
Bin off blue cards. Use VAR only for obvious offsides. Give the advantage to the striker. If you have to draw minuscule lines. It’s onside. Only use VAR elsewhere for serious bad tackles. Penalties if it is a marginal decision. It’s not a penalty. Diving would be eradicated. There I’ve fixed the game.
Man City are the absolute worst at cynical fouls. Ironic they decided the cards should be blue. Ultimately it’s ****ing preposterous. They can’t get var even remotely right because of “interpretation so anyone telling me they’re going to know what a “cynical” foul is every time is beyond me. With the massive ****show that is football these days, why are cynical fouls the most pressing concern? Id rather they actually got back on diving, cleared up handball and as Gg says stop ****ing about with offfside. One of my pet peeves is rotational fouls that Pep brought in. Avoids obvious hatchet jobs, breaks up play and is just one of the most toxic lawful things I’ve had to suffer these past few years. Who the **** makes up this IFAB anyway??
Players like Calvin Phillips will be made redundant, but Newcastle still seek that type.. makes sense now... more plodders is what's needed apparently.. the opposite of what you might think.
It will just lead to time wasting while players are in the sin bin. Should have one for managers though. Step outside the technical area or mouth off to officials and wack them into a sound proof sin bin for 20mins.
I don't enjoy watching football at games or on the TV quite frankly. Really it's pretty dead already and only going to get worse.
Anybody else noted that @G4rdToonArmy posts in a similar style to one of our favourite Mackem posters?
