Losing Hirst just before Christmas was a huge blow and it showed, our striker and target man wasnt there so lots of aimless tippy tappy getting nowhere football instead of having a man to hit to have a shot or lay the ball off to a runner, and so our results suffered.
Now we have Moore who showed in 30 minutes at Preston what we have been missing and if we play to his strengths we should have more direction in our play with everyone knowing who does what instead of Broadhurst trying to a No 9, we shall see on Saturday in what sounds to be a very tough game v WBA.

Hirst was the key, and I remember thinking that during that game he was slipping a lot. Change yer boots at half time!

Then, he tried to do a swift change of direction and oouucchh! Poor pitch if I recall.

Lets hope that Moore and co give us renewed optimism. No wins in 8 is very un Ipswich!

I find it boring since they moved to highlights of every match and I find most of the pundits dull as dishwater. It’s too long. I much preferred a couple of games and then goals of the rest. So now I occasionally watch for 15 minutes and then switch off.

Very rarely,I give less and less of my time to watching football that doesn't involve ITFC,I've generally got better things to do with my time.

Back in the day, if you avoided the videprinter (dot matrix printing at its best) and the classified check, it was very easy to be able to watch match of the day without knowing the scores of the game. Now, all the reports are in within minutes of the games finishing so it’s just not as interesting and very few of the pundits point out things that the average fan would miss - this to me is the main roll of the pundit

Not that long ago you had to wait for the next day’s paper to find out the scores, never mind highlights uploaded an hour after the final whistle.

I remember waiting outside EADT offices for the journalists to phone in the scores from our away European games in the early 70s.One game went to penalties and it was like Chinese whispers with score being shouted out through the crowd.

And as a young lad on a Suffolk farm, back in the 60's I bicycled 3 miles to local town on a quiet Sunday morn, to buy the Sunday Mirror and Sunday Times for all the scores! My Dad liked to get both sides of the news. Hardly saw a car in those days, sigh.

I can remember a Likely lads episode (in the 70s) where they were trying to avoid hearing the England result of a game being played in eastern Europe so they could watch the highlights on the TV later in the evening. went to all sorts of places to avoid hearing the result, whilst placing a bet with a friend that they could avoid hearing the result. (plot spoiler, the game was called off )

I can see a positive performance today, I think the signing of Moore will galvanise us, and can see us turning them over...2 nil, Moore and chappers

Good lineup, I've got a bad feeling about today as in all the other fixtures...Leeds, Southampton have good easier fixtures plus the boys up the road could get into the Playoffs today.
