First time I've seen that, very good. I thought I'd seen the Men In Black but I guess there is a sequel of them, you can tell I don't watch many movies!

I remember seeing that at the end when the film first came out (it's after the credits) and thinking that's really well done. Makes you think. They showed an alien at the end but it could be swapped for God.

I was stoned at the time though.

But it's like us. We could leave a sandwich under the bed (like my son often does) and a month later you come across it. It's got our equivalent of a whole universe living on it. You pick it up and recoil, urghhhh and chuck it in the bin. Imagine that's us. God forgot about the sandwich. One day comes across us (the whole universe) something he'd forgotten about under the bed and recoils, not giving it a second thought, urghhhh and puts us in the bin. That's how insignificant we are.

Interesting. My honest first thought, his mouth moves but it's like the rest of him is dead. Does that mean the truth or a lie?

Yeah I think the ending also demonstrates a thought process within humans that we are prepared to think beyond and our true place in the bigger picture. As insiginificant as a game of marbles. The bit I struggle with God is what is God, I struggle with any concept of God being human / a person, but maybe that's the most realistic way of thinking? I think more of whatever this is all about is beyond our imagination...I find drawings of God slightly comical and just can't take them seriously. So I can through that see why religions maybe get offended with drawings of their beliefs, especially as humans take offence to be mocked, "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain". Anyway, moving on, I class things such as dark energy and dark matter as a tell me more, much like the paranormal, maybe there are some aspects of life we are not meant to explore, but then why give humans that ability to question or as Hawking suggested we might not like what we find, but surely that's just another human emotion called fear, afterall what's the worse that can happen, death?

    Is it bedtime yet <laugh>

I had to look up what he died of to ensure he hadn't lost his marbles.

It appears he died of heart failure, not surprised if he was doing that at 77! <laugh>

I agree about God. I apply that to life after death as well. If life after death exists I just can't see how we'd exist in the shape of a human. We're far too fallable in the physical form. And a human spiritual form seems pointless. So imo it's as a state, in some realm, some dimension we can't even begin to imagine. And the emotions, feelings, euphoria, happiness etc will be experienced through some form of energy. I can't begin to explain how it could be, I don't think anyone can, we just don't have the capacity to comprehend what it looks like, but I don't think it's like they show in children's books of heaven where everyone's dressed in robes all looking cheerie ffs.

Yeh defo bedtime after this lol.

I think we're supposed to struggle with the concept because as you said it's beyond our comprehension. People have then tried to normalize God by depicting him as a wise old man sat on a cloud which is ridiculous when you think about it.
I stopped trying to figure it all out a while back because there are no answers and it becomes a matter of faith. I'm not a Christian but I believe in something, I'm not sure what and I don't want to argue about if I'm a religious nutjob or not, I am what I am.

    The agnostic's prayer:

So many more things that seem to happen that take you back to being a child when you're old. I'm quite looking forward to it.
