I don't understand how Burn keeps getting picked ahead of Livramento

Most games he's played, Livramento has looked superb. Played well vs Dortmund and PSG in the champions league.

Burn has been found out. Unless he has a solid midfield covering him all game, all players have to do is hammer long balls over his head to anyone with pace and he's ****ed.

It cost us 2 pts vs Luton and started a potential Villa comeback last week also. He also gave Walker so much space vs City which lead to the first City goal.

Some of us have been saying for weeks to drop Burn. He's been a fantastic servant, but it's time for him to be dropped.

Many of us were saying at half time vs Luton that Burn needed to be dropped and Tino on but Howe decided to wait until Burn cost us another 2 goals before deciding it was time.

It's not even Burn I'm most concerned with it's Eddie Howe.

Did the last two goals for Luton come from down Burns side?

From memory I think they did but can anyone confirm.

It is a strange one. Even last season when we had Targett available he didn’t get a look in.

I do wonder if Howe does have his favourites?

Burn got skinned and gave away the penalty dragging his runner down, and their 4th came from burn sprinting up the pitch and out of position, and they got their 4th because Burn left a gaping hole in our defence.

Longstaff was hammering him for it.

Penalty first and then the second I'm not sure hwere he was - I don't think he was even in our half when Luton scored their 4th!

Agree with the last sentence - Howe is paid to make the decision and while the other week vs Villa he made a good decision to move to a back 5 - he didn't try and change anything against Luton and as you say Burn could have been hooked at HT but wasn't - big mistake. Not sure there is any way Burn can start on Saturday vs Forrest - get him out the firing line and give Tino the opportunity he deserves.

Schar was to blame for at least two of their goals

    The 2nd goal
where he just trotted back to watch Barkley put it into the net unchallenged after Dubs had saved

He was just as bad as Burn was. At least with Burn we know it’s a lack of pace but with Schar, it’s times like this, that should make people realise he’s not that great at defending. He’s good at wandering off with the ball and has a good strike.

Favouritism is an issue from Sunday league to the top. Always has been and always will be. Then you've got managers that are to stubborn to concede defeat and will refuse to change anything no matter what.

Was it the large chest that got in the way?

I just wouldn't/couldn't comply with the rule in which you cannot move with the ball.

Eh? The first goal was a set piece that couldn't be blamed on one individual player.

2nd goal neither Longstaff or Miley could retain the ball and they ran in on goal. I fail to see any goal that was primarily schars fault.

First goal the free kick got headed into the middle, and their player had 3 of ours around him who just stood there and allowed him a free header. Defending was awful from all 3.

Their second no one marked Barclay or got close to him, Schar was just casually standing behind him.

When you realise three of your first choice back four are 32 and over next season yet playing every possible game this season….

The entire back 4 needs replacing with the exception of Botman. Essentially Newcastle don't have the funds to solve much for a while now.
