Expanding the stadium might be easier if the surrounding land was bought up and the road layout altered, rather than looking for a green field site within the city boundary. Can't see it happening until we're back in the PL.

Absolutely agree but the more difficult lies ahead so a wait and see policy has been adopted by Eire

It's all good for Jammy to say that it's new owners new DOF let's not live in the past but the 49ers had a what 40 percent ownership of the club and been a minority owner status as far back as 2018. Did they not have anyone on the board back then questioning decisions that the last administration were making.

Let's assume that they were planning to have a 100 percent control of the club when they first came onboard.

Are you saying that they're not partly responsible for the contract fcuk up, that saw almost our entire first team leave on loan last Summer?

    According to the 49ers :-

"On the football side, Marathe continues in his long-respected role as the team's chief contract negotiator and salary cap architect while overseeing the team's football analytics department, among other football duties."

For a good few years, the 49ers have had a major stake in Leeds Utd. Marathe, a self confessed 'contracts guy' obviously didn't dot the I's and cross the T's when it came to Leeds contracts, even though it was the 49ers money Leeds were using to buy Aaronson, Sinisterra, Adams etc etc....

I said it at the time, and I'll say it again, that I believe the reason why the takeover took so long was due to these loan clauses, which screwed up our Summer, and the beginning of the season.

Well if the reduced price they paid to acquire full ownership of the club was a result of the players contract situation then you could say they’ve been pretty smart in allowing it to happen.

I agree. I wonder whether we got all the cash from the Raphinha sale. Probably still owed money on that.

You don't think it was smart that the 49ers avoided paying Radrizani the valuation of the club agreed 12 months previously ? Part of the reason for the reduced sale price was down to the reduced book value of our playing assets due to them being being contractually allowed to leave on loan. Plus had we been able to sell those assets last summer then Radrizani quite possibly might not have agreed to the sale, instead preferring a fire sale and banking his share.

But yeh let's all think that the 49ers are dumb and blindly went along with the players contract situation without being aware of any potential upside to them.

Except that they would have lost around £100 million in revenue due to the relegation

If we bounce straight back and then sell all the loan players the 49ers will have done very nicely out of the deal with Radrizani. Hey I'm not saying it was some perfect strategy but it maybe goes some way to explaining why they allowed Orta to but those clauses in the contracts. Marathe himself even said that sometimes they decided to keep quiet and allow the majority shareholders to make certain decisions as they saw fit.

Oh and it's not £100M less this season as we still get 80% in parachute payments so somewhere nearer half that would be about right.
