Of course we're not going to dominate possession. But I do think we'll have chances - FWIW I think we'll fall short as we won't be clinical enough when we get them. Very odd that you're suddenly not arsed in the slightest about a cup match when you've been bigging them up all season! Would you have not cared about the League Cup Final had we got there due to that game having VAR?

I'm not arsed about doing a 500 mile round trip to watch us get humped in a match with VAR where I won't even be able to celebrate if we do somehow score a goal against the odds no.

I'd probably be more tempted to watch if it was a winnable tie. Probably not though.

I don’t really know how it will pan out, but my feeling is that our style of play will work against us here as it relies on us being dominant in possession and I can’t see Liverpool allowing that to happen.

I can see them pickpocketing us at the back when we try to pass across our defence too.

But it’s a good bit of learning for a potential future PL season, so long as we don’t get battered by 7,8,9 etc.

We could get battered with our full strength starting 11 so I'd much rather that not happen to our regular first teamers and have to carry that back into the league. The real challenge is getting promoted and then you can play Liverpool and every other PL side twice next year.

People might be slightly overrating us, and yes, we will most likely lose (and even lose badly).

But it's 22 players, one ball. Anything can happen, and we're supremely confident right now. I find it a bit weird that people are just giving up on it. I hope the players and RM don't have the same attitude.

It's also the FA Cup. Weird and wonderful things happen in this competition - just ask Maidstone.

Watford used six subs, was one of them a concussion protocol (GK?). I can't find any reference to it in the various reports.

It’s the FA Cup Libs, every tie is winnable.

I wouldn’t be trawling up there on a school night myself either, and besides I’ll be away, but in 90 minutes of football anything can happen…

Their goalkeeper walked off holding his head. So I guess so.

And should that happen then I'll no doubt attend the QF.

Before leaving after the first VAR stoppage and having a meltdown on here :)

I shall look forward to the meltdown then, when VAR robs us of an obviously legitimate goal

Exactly the point was about to make, I'd be thought a cynic or is it a happy clapper if I said some of those regularly predict defeat do so to attract comment, I think they're called wummers, I stand to be corrected.

There was a goalkeeper who had an awful game with every goal being his fault. He'd either fumbled or let the ball slip into the goal.
On the way off the pitch at fulltime he put his head in hands and dropped it.

Getting a match with Liverpool might be useful because I have my doubts that our system can work against a team where almost all / all of the other players are better. Let alone another team that tries to play the same way (although that isn’t Liverpool). Whether we go up or not a test against a team of that level would be useful

And if they don’t play the full team - even more important (especially if we do). Because if our system falls flat on its face against a reserve Liverpool side …

What games do we have either side ?

Villa play Chelsea in their replay tonight and just to remind everyone that if Chelsea lose it will be the first time since 1902 that the last 16 of the FA Cup had no team from London, a year in which Saints made it to the final.
Pass me that straw to clutch.
